Customers of SBI may use WhatsApp to access banking services from the lender. Users can check your account balance and get Mini Statement. Through the platform, the State Bank of India also offers WhatsApp-based services to customers with credit cards.

Financial wellness platform CASHe has launched an industry-first credit line service using its AI-powered chat capability on WhatsApp to provide customers with a fast, seamless and convenient way to access instant credit line by merely typing their name.

HDFC launched a ‘Spot Offer’ on WhatsApp, to provide in-principle home loan approval to home buyers within two minutes.
The platform, which has been built by HDFC and Cogno AI, will offer a conditional home loan approval. Over 91% of new loan applications received by HDFC are through digital channels. In the new facility provided to salaried resident Indians, there is no waiting time for the approval letter.

• Vicarious liability is a form of a strict, secondary liability that arises under the common law doctrine of agency; respondent superior – the responsibility of the superior for the acts of their subordinate, or, in a broader sense, the responsibility imposed on one person for the wrongful actions of another person. Such a liability arises usually because of some or the other legal relationship between the two. This often occurs in the context of civil law—for example, in employment cases. In a criminal context, vicarious liability assigns guilt, or criminal liability, to a person for wrongful acts committed by someone else.
• In Ashish Bhalla v. Suresh Chawdhary & Ors (2016), the Delhi High Court observed that defamation and defamatory statements made by any member of the group cannot make the administrator liable therefore.
• The Madras High Court (R.Rajendran v. the Inspector of Police) directed the investigating officer to delete the name of the WhatsApp group administrator while filing final report if his role is merely of an administrator and nothing else.
• In Kishor Chintaman Tarone v. State of Maharashtra & Another, the High Court of Bombay held that ‘a Group Administrator cannot be held vicariously liable for an act of a member of the Group, who posts objectionable content, unless it is shown that there was common intention or pre-arranged plan acting in concert pursuant to such plan by such member of a WhatsApp Group and the Administrator.’

Kerala Tourism has launched its 24×7 WhatsApp chatbot ‘Maya’ to enable tourists to access all information and updates about the tourism sector in the state.
The dedicated WhatsApp interactive service ‘Maya’ will serve as a virtual travel assistant for tourists. The Service can be obtained using WhatsApp chat or by scanning the QR code, for a hassle-free travel experience in the state.

Start-up placement firm Vahan launched a WhatsApp API (application programming interface) enabled chatbot called ‘Mitra’.
Using the chatbot, the company has reached 1 lakh milestone in providing employment opportunities to over 1 lakh blue collared professionals and a large number of grey collared professionals.

India’s leading private sector bank Axis Bank has recently launched WhatsApp Banking facility, to resolve the queries of consumers 24×7.
This new facility will allow customers to seek information regarding their account balance, recent transactions, credit card payments, fixed and recurring deposit details. It also enables them to get their queries answered in real-time.

Leading public sector of India, the Bank of Baroda announced the launch of banking services on WhatsApp.
The services offered by the bank include balance inquiry, mini statement, cheque status enquiry, cheque book request, blocking of debit card among others. It also enables the customers to apply for new digital service.

The dedicated WhatsApp number 7875756177 will be functional round the clock at the State Police Control Room, Panaji. Union Minister of State for Defence and AYUSH Shripad Naik handed over a medically well-equipped ambulance to Chief Minister for the use of Goa Police.
