The first Khelo India Tribal Games have started in Chhattisgarh and were inaugurated in Raipur by Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. The Games will now be held annually in Chhattisgarh to promote tribal sports talent. It aims to identify tribal athletes and provide training for international competitions. The initiative strengthens sports inclusion and grassroots talent development in tribal communities.

Uttarakhand hosted the 25th edition of the All India Police Water Sports Cluster Championship 2026 at Tehri Lake from 8 to 12 April 2026. The event is organised under the aegis of the Indo Tibetan Border Police. More than 440 athletes from 19 police teams, including state police and central armed forces, are participating. A total of 52 events such as canoeing, rowing, and kayaking will be conducted. The championship provides a platform for police personnel to showcase sporting talent and enhance inter-force camaraderie.

The Para Elan initiative is a three-year India–France collaboration launched by the French Institute in India and the Paralympic Committee of India to promote inclusive education and para sports. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Satya Prakash Sangwan (PCI) and Gregor Trumel (IFI) in the presence of Thierry Mathou. The programme aims to reach around 10,000 students through awareness campaigns, workshops, and interactions with para-athletes. It focuses on values like inclusion, equality, resilience, and excellence while strengthening India–France cooperation in adaptive sports.
