Indian teenage squash player Anahat Singh became the youngest Asian to enter the PSA World Top 20, breaking Nicol David’s record. She achieved this after winning her first PSA Bronze-level title at the Washington Fire Open. In the tournament, she defeated world number 17 in the quarterfinal, world number 23 in the semifinal, and world number 10 Georgina Kennedy in the final (12-10, 11-5, 11-7).

On 4 February 2026, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) elected Soraya Aghaei as its first female member from Iran. She became the 107th IOC member through a 95–2 vote and is the youngest current representative at 30 years of age. She is only the third Iranian International Olympic Committee (IOC) member and the first from Iran since 2004. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is an exclusive body of former athletes, sports leaders, royals, diplomats, industrialists, and cultural figures. Aghaei joined the IOC during the presidency of Kirsty Coventry, the first female IOC President in 132 years.

The Winter Olympics 2026, officially the 25th Winter Olympic Games, are known as Milano Cortina 2026. The Games will be held under the supervision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Italy will host the Olympics, marking its fourth time hosting the Olympic Games. Events will take place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, famous winter sports cities in northern Italy. The Games aim to promote sportsmanship, global unity, and cultural exchange. The official logo reflects modern design, creativity, and unity between the two host cities. India won the U19 Cricket World Cup 2026, defeating England by 100 runs in the final held in Harare, Zimbabwe. India batted first, scoring 411/9 in 50 overs, while England were bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs chasing a target of 412. Vaibhav Suryavanshi (14 years old) starred with 175 runs off 80 balls, laying the foundation for India’s win. Captain Ayush Mhatre contributed 53 runs off 51 balls. This is India’s sixth U19 World Cup title and the largest margin of victory by runs in a U19 final.

Jharkhand’s women’s team won the gold medal in the Women’s Category at the Para Throwball National Federation Cup 2026. They defeated host Rajasthan 21–17 in a closely fought final held at Jhunjhunu. The tournament was conducted from February 3 to 5, 2026, and featured high-quality competition and strong tactical play. In the Men’s Category, Andhra Pradesh won the gold medal, while Telangana finished as runners-up. Haryana secured the bronze medal in the men’s event.

India’s Pramod Bhagat won the men’s SL3 gold medal at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Para World Championships held in Bahrain. He defeated Indonesia’s Muhammad Al Imran in straight games 21-12, 21-18 in the final. The 37 year old secured his fourth consecutive singles gold at the World Championships. He has now won six overall world titles in the SL3 category. With this achievement, he surpassed Lin Dan, who had won five men’s singles world titles. Bhagat has become the most decorated singles champion in World Championship history across badminton categories.

Argentine tennis player Tomas Martin Etcheverry won his maiden ATP Tour title by clinching the Rio Open (ATP 500) title in Brazil. He defeated Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo in the final with a scoreline of 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4 to secure the biggest title of his career. This triumph marked Etcheverry’s first ATP crown after finishing runner-up in three previous tour-level finals. During the tournament, he also achieved a milestone by recording his 100th tour-level match win.
