Citizens can upload videos of players’ performances on the National Sports Repository System (NSRS) portal. NSRS is a digital Management Information System (MIS) run by the Sports Authority of India (SAI). It operates under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. NSRS is part of the Khelo India – National Programme for Development of Sports Scheme. The portal provides digital solutions for athletes, coaches, sports scientists, training centers, federations, and administrators. It issues a unique Khelo India ID (KID) upon registration for athletes, coaches, and academies.

Hockey India announced the first-ever Hockey India Masters Cup 2025 (Men & Women). It will be hosted by the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu in Chennai from 18 June to 27 June 2025. The event provides a platform for veteran players to showcase their skills and passion for hockey. Players must be 40 years and above for men and 35 years and above for women to participate. Registrations will be done through State Member Units. The tournament will follow a league-cum-knockout format, with pools based on total teams. This marks a historic step for veteran hockey in India.

Recently, Pardeep Narwal, the most successful player in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) history, announced his retirement after going unsold in the PKL Season 12 auction. The 28-year-old was a key player for Patna Pirates, leading them to three consecutive PKL titles in his five-season run. He later played for UP Yoddhas in Season 8 and also represented Bengaluru Bulls. Narwal scored a record 1,801 raid points, averaging 9.47 raid points per match, making him the most prolific raider in PKL history.

The Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu (HUTN) announced it will host the first Hockey India Masters Cup from June 18 to 27, 2025, at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium, Chennai. The tournament is for men above 40 years and women above 35 years. It will feature 12 men’s and 8 women’s teams, starting with group matches and ending with knockouts and finals. Famous former players like Olympian Sudha Chaudhari and Adam Sinclair will participate. Men’s teams are divided into 4 pools and women’s into 2 pools, with states like Haryana, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu taking part.

Recently, Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra won the Javelin Throw title at the Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 meet held in the Czech Republic. The 27-year-old two-time Olympic medallist secured the gold medal with a best throw of 85.29 metres. Douw Smit from South Africa finished second with 84.12 metres, and Anderson Peters from Grenada came third with 83.63 metres. This was Neeraj’s second straight victory after winning the Paris Diamond League, where he crossed 90 metres for the first time with a throw of 90.23 metres.

Iga Swiatek won the 2025 Women’s Singles title at the 2025 Wimbledon Tennis Championships by defeating Amanda Anisimova with a 6-0, 6-0 score on July 12, 2025. Swiatek, a 24-year-old from Poland, earned her first Wimbledon title and sixth Grand Slam, including four French Open and one US Open titles. This is her first grass-court title, ending a year-long title drought since June 2024 Roland-Garros.

England will host the World Test Championship (WTC) Finals in 2027, 2029, and 2031, as decided by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Malta will host the 8th Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) in late 2027. Around 1,150 athletes aged 14-18 from 74 nations and territories will take part. The event will include eight sports: athletics, para athletics, netball, squash, swimming, para swimming, triathlon, and weightlifting. Sailing and water polo will debut in Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) 2027. Para swimming will feature for the first time, making it the largest Para sport program in Commonwealth Youth Games history.
