India and United Kingdom have announced a $1.2 billion package, which aims to improve finance to green growth of Asian countries.

This package includes an $1 billion would be an investment from CDC, the UK’s development finance institution to support businesses working on green technology. The Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI) India partnership has also been launched to raise private capital for green projects in India.

The total Forex Reserves of India has sharply risen to $633 billion in last week of August 2021. This is primarily on account of additional of 12.57 billion SDR allocation by IMF to India, equal to $17.86 billion.

India’s SDR allocation is in proportion to its IMF quota of 2.75%. Foreign currency assets, Gold, Special drawing rights and the reserve position with IMF are the components of Forex reserves of the Reserve Bank

Suhas L Yathiraj, Noida District Magistrate, created history as the first-ever IAS officer to win a medal at the Paralympics. He defeated Fredy Setiawan of Indonesia in his men’s singles SL4-Group A.

In 2016, he participated in the Asian Championship in Beijing and became the first non-ranked player to win the gold medal. He has earlier won many medals at BWF Turkish championship in 2017 and 2019. He also won a gold medal in Brazil in 2020.

Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, has chaired a review meeting with Uttar Pradesh State Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister. He reviewed the implementation of animal husbandry and dairy schemes in the state and also took stock of the proposals in respect of animal husbandry and dairying. The state has been advised to focus on creating rural Entrepreneurship and better livelihood opportunity for unemployed youth and livestock farmers and to further expand the existing Pashu Bima and to promote Kisan Credit card for livestock farmers.

The Punjab government and the American Chamber of Commerce in India (Amcham India) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote investment in the state as well as further increase the ease of doing business for US member companies. The first-of-its-kind MoU that Amcham India signed with any state will also see the formation of a joint working group which will include members from Invest Punjab and the American trade body.

Tamil Nadu CM M.K Stalin has announced that Rs 5,000 each as a financial assistance will be paid to the artisans making Vinayaka statues. They will be gien this amount since the ban on public celebration of Vinayaka Chathurthi had affected 3,000 artisans.

The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed Rajnish Kumar as its economic advisor. A former SBI chairman, Rajnish Kumar’s tenure in the cabinet rank position is for two years.

Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, has been appointed as India’s Sherpa for G20. G20 is an influential grouping which brings together the major economies of world. Next G20 Summit is scheduled to take place from October 30 to 31, 2021 under Italian Presidency. India will hold the G20 Presidency from December 1, 2022 and will also convene G20 Leaders’ Summit in 2023 for the first time. India will also be part of the G20 Troika (preceding, current, and incoming G20 Presidencies) from December 1, 2021 to November 30, 2024.

International Day to Protect Education from Attack is observed globally on 9th September. The first ever International Day to Protect Education from Attack was observed on 9th September, 2020. This day is also observed to spread awareness about the difficulties faced by those children living in countries which are affected by military conflicts. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of the importance of protecting schools as a protective and safe place for students and educators, and the need to put education at the top of the public agenda.

India and Australia hold first ever 2+2 talks with focus on strategic ties and situation in Afghanistan. India and Australia on Saturday began a high-level foreign and defence ministerial dialogue to boost the overall strategic cooperation between the nations. External affairs minister S Jaishankar and Union defence minister Rajnath Singh held the ‘two-plus-two’ talks with their Australian counterparts Marise Payne and Peter Dutton.
