CSIR-NAL – Bengaluru, has designed and developed a 2-seater New Generation trainer aircraft named HANSA. The indigenously made aircraft made its maiden flight recently, flew at an altitude of 4000 feet and reached a speed of 80 knots.

The aircraft has cabin comfort, highly efficient – digitally controlled engine, electrically operated flaps etc.

In a survey conducted by the Morning Consult, the Indian Prime Minister has obtained an approval rating of 70 per cent. The survey calculates the approval and disapproval rating of global leaders, based on a 7-day moving average of adults in each country, which is analysed by online interviews.

Indian PM’s approval rating is highest among 13 global leaders polled in the survey and is ahead of the heads of Mexico, Italy, Germany, UK etc.

The bilateral exercise – AUSINDEX between Indian Navy and Royal Australian Navy is being held in Australia from September 6 to 10, 2021. The exercise will provide an opportunity for both Navies to further bolster inter-operability, gain from best practices and develop a common understanding of procedures for Maritime Security Operations. The two countries will also be holding their first “2+2″ Foreign and Defence Ministers meet in New Delhi.

The Punjab government and the American Chamber of Commerce in India (Amcham India) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote investment in the state as well as further increase the ease of doing business for US member companies. The first-of-its-kind MoU that Amcham India signed with any state will also see the formation of a joint working group which will include members from Invest Punjab and the American trade body.

Tamil Nadu CM M.K Stalin has announced that Rs 5,000 each as a financial assistance will be paid to the artisans making Vinayaka statues. They will be gien this amount since the ban on public celebration of Vinayaka Chathurthi had affected 3,000 artisans.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, launched Vidyanjali Portal and several other initiatives in the education sector on September 7, 2021. Vidyanjali portal was launched to enable community or volunteers to contribute by connecting with the government and government-aided schools of their choice directly. He also addressed the inaugural conclave of ‘Shikshak Parv’ through video-conferencing. He launched the Indian Sign Language Dictionary (audio and text embedded sign language video for the hearing impaired, in conformity with Universal Design of Learning) and Talking Books (audio books for the visually impaired). School Quality Assurance and Assessment Framework of the Central Board of Secondary Education were also launched. PM also launched NISHTHA, a teachers’ training programme for NIPUN Bharat.

State of Tamil Nadu and Denmark have planned to create an energy island in Gulf of Mannar that lies between the west coast of Sri Lanka and south-eastern tip of India. This plan was made as Tamil Nadu is looking to expand its footprint in the green energy sector. To achieve this target, Denmark is likely to invest $5-10 billion in the renewable energy sector in the state. It also includes investment for an energy island in the Gulf of Mannar. With this investment, island would be able to produce 4-10 GW of energy.

Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Russia on cooperation in the field of Geosciences. MoU was signed between the Joint Stock Company Rosgeologia (State holding Company) of Russia and the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines.

International Day to Protect Education from Attack is observed globally on 9th September. The first ever International Day to Protect Education from Attack was observed on 9th September, 2020. This day is also observed to spread awareness about the difficulties faced by those children living in countries which are affected by military conflicts. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of the importance of protecting schools as a protective and safe place for students and educators, and the need to put education at the top of the public agenda.
