The state government of Arunachal Pradesh has launched 2 schemes named Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojna and Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojna. AtmaNirbhar Krishi Yojna is an agri sector scheme while Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojna is a horticulture scheme.

The government has allocated a total sum of Rs. 120 crores for these two schemes, Rs.60 crores for each of the schemes.

INS Hansa is an Indian Naval Air station located in the state of Goa. President of India and the Supreme Commander of Indian Armed Forces, presented the President’s Colour to Indian Naval Aviation at INS Hansa, Goa.

President Ram Nath Kovind is also set to attend the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of ‘INS Hansa’. The first Sea-land aircraft was acquired on in 1951 and INS Garuda was commissioned at Kochi in 1953. President’s Colour is presented to recognise the service rendered both during peace and combat.

The National Resistance Front (NRF) has been demonstrating stiff resistance against the Taliban forces at Panjshir Valley in Afghanistan. The NRF have called for a ceasefire and have proposed that Taliban stop its military operations in Panjshir.

Although the major parts of Afghanistan including the capital city have been taken in Taliban’s control, the Panjshir Valley is yet to be taken control by Talibans.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD 150 million loan for a sustainable housing project for the urban poor in Tamil Nadu. The Manila-headquartered ADB has said that Tamil Nadu is vital to India’s economic growth, contributing 8.54% to India’s gross domestic product.

El Salvador has become the first country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender, although it suffered teething problems when the government had to unplug a digital wallet to cope with demand. President Nayib Bukele, who pushed for adoption of the cryptocurrency, said using bitcoin will help Salvadorans save $400 million a year on commissions for remittances, while giving access to financial services to those with no bank account.

Coal India Ltd. (CIL), under the Ministry of Coal has signed a MoU with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Assam for strengthening the health infrastructure at the Silchar Medical College & Hospital, Silchar, the only Medical College and Hospital in Barak Valley Region, Assam. In this new CSR initiative, CIL will contribute Rs. 5 crores towards setting up of an ICU facility and medical gas pipeline in the Silchar Medical College & Hospital which will benefit over 40 lakh people of the State.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) has been adjudged the best higher educational institution in 2021 followed by Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc) and IIT Bombay. The rankings were announced by education minister Dharmendra Pradhan as part of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), an initiative of the government to rank top Indian institutions. Several key parameters, including research output, teaching learning environment, outreach and inclusivity, resource, graduate outcome, and perception, among others, were considered for preparing the exhaustive list.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the state of the art Sardardham Bhavan at Ahmedabad through video conferencing. He also laid the foundation stone of Sardardham Phase-II Kanya Chhatralay on the occasion. Sardardham Bhavan has been constructed at the cost of 200 crore rupees. It comprises of modern facilities such as library, hostel, career guidance & training centre for boys as well as girls coming from rural areas and a multipurpose auditorium. Kanya Chhatralaya will house 2000 girls, irrespective of their economic criteria. Both the establishments are dedicated to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In a bid to encourage decentralised renewable energy (DRE) Smart Power India (SPI), a subsidiary of the Rockefeller Foundation and Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) joined hands with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to elucidate the role of DRE for the overall development of the nation. This partnership came as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
