The Union Ministry of Education along with the UGC has organised a Webinar titled “Ensuring Inclusive Governance: Making Every Person Matter”. This has been a part of the Ministry’s vision of quality education to all. Shri Arjun Munda – Union Minister of Tribal Affairs was the Chief Guest for the function.
This webinar created an opportunity to bring academicians, educationists and administrators on a single platform and was supported by the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow.

Notes:
The forest department of Odisha has proposed to fit radio collars on 7 Elephants of the state, to track their movement and prevent them from entering the human settlements. It aims to eliminate animal – human conflict.
Three elephants of Chandaka Wildlife Sanctuary and four elephants of the Similipal Tiger Reserve have been selected for this purpose. The device is fitted with a GPS device and the location can be tracked real time.

 

Notes:
The Government of India has recently launched the “National single-window system for investors and businesses”. This portal is designed to act as a single point of contact for obtaining all approval and clearance for business enterprises and investors. This would enhance Ease of Doing Business, transparency, and accountability.
Presently, approvals across 18 central departments and nine states have been onboarded to the portal and another 14 departments would be onboarded by December 2021.

The Government of India’s Government e Marketplace (GeM) initiative has been adjudged as the winner of CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards 2021, under the “Best Use of Digital Technology” category. The award ceremony was held in London, UK.
GeM is a dedicated online marketplace for procurement of goods and services by Govt. Government Organisations, Departments and PSUs.

Notes:
Every year, the United Nations observe 23rd September as the International Day of Sign Languages, to support and protect the linguistic and cultural identity of sign language users. The theme for the year 2021 is “We Sign For Human Rights”.
This day was first celebrated in the year 2018 and a resolution in this regard was passed at the UN General Assembly in December 2017.

The “Digital Sky” Platform is operated by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DCGA) in India. Recently, the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has come out with a airspace map, exclusively for drone operations in India. This map can be accessed using the “Digital Sky” Platform.
As per the map, air space is bifurcated into green, red and yellow zones for drone operations.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurated high power transmitters (HPT) at world’s highest radio station at Humbatingla in Kargil.
They are located at an altitude of 13 thousand 300 feet from mean sea level. Each 10kW HPT of All India Radio FM radio station and Doordarshan will improve the transmission in the region especially in Kargil and Batalik sectors.

World Pharmacist Day 2021 is celebrated on September 25, to celebrate and recognise the role of pharmacists.
International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) established the World Pharmacist Day. It was on this day FIP was founded in 1912. FIP is the federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. The theme of World Pharmacist Day 2021 is “Pharmacy: Always Trusted for Your Health”.

Notes:
The general election results in Iceland have been a special event for the country, since 48% of the winning candidates were women. Out of the 63-seat parliament, 30 seats were won by women candidates. This makes Iceland’s Parliament have the highest number of women’s representation in Europe.
Finland has 47% women representation and Sweden has 465 women representations in their respective Parliament.

Notes:
The Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) will be dissolved from 1st October 2021 and will be converted into seven new public sector units.
All the assets including the 41 factories and its employees of the Ordnance Factory Board would be transferred to the new PSUs namely Munitions India Ltd, Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd, Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Ltd, Troop Comforts Ltd, Yantra India Ltd, India Optel Ltd and Gliders India Ltd.
