NITI Aayog has launched a report on measures to ramp up urban planning capacity in India. The report is titled ‘Reforms in Urban Planning Capacity in India.’ The report has been developed by NITI Aayog, in consultation with concerned ministries and eminent experts in the domain of urban and regional planning. It presents a condensed outcome of the extensive deliberations and consultations conducted over a period of 9 months.

HSBC India has launched HSBC UniTransact, a digital proposition aimed at simplifying cross-border transactions. This offering is a one-stop solution, bringing clients the benefit of seamless integration of all aspects of transaction banking while minimizing manual intervention through the course of the transaction journey. HSBC UniTransact enables end-to-end visibility of these transactions to clients and also addresses the challenges of having to deal with multiple touch points across different teams for each transaction.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, MoS for electronics & information technology has inaugurated three National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) centres. One of the NIELIT centres was inaugurated in Churachandpur district of Manipur while, two other centres were inaugurated in Tezpur and Kokrajhar districts of Assam. These NIELIT centres will soon become job creation centres in partnership with the Centre and the states. These centres will not only be training centres, but also centres for improving the qualifications of young people and providing them with new opportunities and jobs.

The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to install public charging stations for electric vehicles in Punjab. ESL is a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL). ESL is a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL). Through cooperation with PEDA, CESL plans to expand its electric vehicles product portfolio. Additionally, CESL will provide convenient and affordable charging infrastructure in the state.

Dharmendra Pradhan , Union Education Minister and Skill Development Minister, has virtually presented the Kaushalacharya Award 2021 to 41 qualified trainers in recognition of their exemplary contributions to the skill ecosystem. hese 41 trainers are from various initiatives and training programs of Skill India Directorate General of Training (DGT), Apprenticeship, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) and Entrepreneurship.

On the third Saturday of September every year the International Coastal Cleanup Day is held. This day in 2021 was held on September 18. The theme of the International Coastal Cleanup Day in 2021 is: “Keep trash in the bin and not in the ocean”. This day was established by the Ocean Conservancy, an organization dedicated to protecting the ocean from the challenges that it faces every year.

Notes:
India’s largest scrap metal processor MTC Group and E-waste Recycler Exigo Recycling Private Limited established a joint venture company MTC-Exigo Recycling Pvt. (MERPL). It was established to treat waste and improve recycling capabilities. MERPL has set itself a goal of processing more than 2,00,000 tons of waste per year, and will gradually increase the recycling capacity of 10 cities in India.

During 20-26 September 2021, the Ministry of Commerce is organizing special programmes and events named ‘Vanijya Saptah’, as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebration. National Single Window System and Industrial Park Rating System platforms will be launched by The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) during this event period.

The IUCN status of the “Humboldt Penguin” is “Vulnerable”. Humboldt Penguin is a South American penguin mainly housed in the Pinguino de Humbold National Reserve in Chile.

Eighty per cent of the world’s Humboldt Penguin population lives in the protected area of Chile. Mumbai’s Byculla Zoo has announced the addition of two new Humboldt penguin chicks this year. There are already seven adult Humboldt penguins at Byculla Zoo.

VIPER, is a mobile robot that is set to land in the South Pole of the Moon to get a close-up view of the location and concentration of water ice, to be launched by NASA. VIPER is also the first resource mapping mission on another celestial body.

NASA recently selected the western edge of Nobile as the landing site for the VIPER mission, to be launched in 2023. Nobile is a lunar impact crater that is located near the southern pole of the Moon, at the south of the crater Scott.
