Ministry of Tribal Affairs intends to establish a National Tribal Research Institute (NTRI) at Delhi to act as body of knowledge & research and as a think tank for tribal development with no proposal for collaboration with NGOs is under consideration of the Ministry. The National Tribal Research Institute will envisages to serve the purpose of mentoring and hand holding support to Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs) located in various States, and to ensure quality and uniformity in research works, evaluation studies, training, awareness generation among tribals, showcasing of rich tribal heritage including languages, habitats and cultivation and production practices such as cloth weaving etc.

The 51st edition of the annual International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which was originally scheduled to start from November 20 in Goa has been postponed to next year.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the festival has been postponed to 16th to 24th January 2021. It was also announced that the festival would be organised in Hybrid format of virtual and physical formats. The 14th edition of NFDC Film Bazaar Online 2020 has been postponed to January, 2021.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has been replaced by the National Medical Commission (NMC). NMC will serve as the nation’s apex regulator of medical education and profession.
With the NMC coming into existence, the Board of Governors has been dissolved. Also, the 64-year-old Indian Medical Council Act has been abolished.

The United Nations and Britain will co-host a global climate summit on 12th December 2020, which marks the fifth anniversary of the landmark Paris Agreement of UNFCC.
This summit is expected to create a momentum for the forthcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26) to be held in November 2021 at Glasgow.

Activities regarding the “Yoga Break” protocol of Ministry of AYUSH have been resumed, after it was suspended due to Covid-19.
This 5-minute protocol is intended to introduce yoga to people at work and help them to take a break from the work schedule. This protocol was developed by Ministry of AYUSH in association with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY).
