India has provided financial assistance of USD 250 million as a budget support to Maldives by purchasing its treasury Bond to help the Government of Maldives in mitigating the impact of the economic crises caused by COVID-19.

The Department of Fisheries in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is responsible to implement the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) scheme for the development and promotion of aquaculture in India. Basically, it seeks to bring Blue Revolution for a sustainable and responsible development of fisheries sector in the country.

Every year, World Heart Day is celebrated on 29th September, to raise awareness around cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and how they can be prevented. World Heart Day is a reminder for people across the world to stop and assess lifestyle choices for them and their family, while acknowledging the need to take strict steps to ensure the safety of their health against this morbid disease.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), M/o Commerce and Industry, has given permission to the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) to introduce ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) Tank Containers for movement of Liquid Oxygen for domestic transport as there is an urgent need to move oxygen in a sufficient quantity.

The Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE) Pune in association with High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) Pune, and Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE) Dehradun have developed the Laser Guided Anti Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) which was tested successfully by defeating a target located at 3 km on 22 September, 2020.

Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) are organizations of exporters, set up under the Societies Registration Act/ Companies Act which came into force on 21 May,1860. Its objective is promotion of Indian exports. The councils are responsible for promotion of a particular group of products/ projects/services as given in Appendix 2T of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2015-2020. Presently, there are fourteen Export Promotion Councils.

The United States has recently announced a USD 150 million (equivalent to Rs 1,100 crore), to invest in training for middle-to-high-skilled H-1B occupations.
The fund will be used to invest in key sectors in the American economy, including Information technology, cyber security, advanced manufacturing and transportation. The H-1B One Workforce grant would also be used to upskill the workforce.

Global automobile manufacturer Harley-Davidson Inc has recently announced that it would discontinue its sales and manufacturing operations in India.
Harley-Davidson has been recently trying to move its dealerships in the country to other cheaper locations. It has also closed its Bawal plant and will incur USD 75 million in restructuring costs. The company made about 17 million bike and scooter sales a year in India.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has been replaced by the National Medical Commission (NMC). NMC will serve as the nation’s apex regulator of medical education and profession.
With the NMC coming into existence, the Board of Governors has been dissolved. Also, the 64-year-old Indian Medical Council Act has been abolished.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced that it has approved two loans for urban sector projects in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
The bank has approved a USD 300 million loan to improve water supply and sanitation infrastructure in the towns of Rajasthan and a USD 270 million loan for Madhya Pradesh Urban Services Improvement Project.
