Notes:
World Hindi Day is celebrated every year on January 10. Also known as the Vishwa Hindi Divas, it commemorates the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference held in Nagpur on the same day in 1975.
World Hindi Day was first celebrated in the year 2006. Hindi is not most-spoken language of the country, and also the third most-spoken language in the world.

Notes:
The market capitalisation of Tata Consultancy Services has recently touched Rs 12 lakh crore, after the company poster its strongest growth in third-quarter.
The profits of the company increased by 7.1 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Reliance Industries (RIL) became the first Indian company to achieve this feat of Rs 12 lakh crore m-cap, in July 2020.

The U.S space agency NASA is set to ignite the most powerful rocket it’s ever built on January 17, 2021.
This is also the first test-fire of the Space Launch System (SLS), the rocket ship to be used for non-commercial human space flight. It is the core system of NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to land a man-woman duo on the moon. The SLS can carry over 27 tons to the moon.

The resolution 1373 on counter terrorism was adopted by the United Nations Security Council unanimously on 28 September 2001. This was adopted following the 11 September terrorist attacks on the United States.
Recently, an open debate was held at the United National Security Council (UNSC) titled ’20 years after the adoption of resolution 1373’ that focused on combating terrorism on a globally. India was represented virtually by External affairs Minister Dr.S.Jaishankar.

Notes:
A team of Scientists from the World Health Organisation arrived in Wuhan province of China, to investigate the origins of the coronavirus pandemic.
In December 2019, the disease emerged from the central Chinese city after which it spread to the entire world. Earlier, WHO claimed that China has not permitted WHO to undertake the COVID-19 origin mission.

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) has collaborated with Telangana Artificial Intelligence Mission (T-AIM) to launch an Innovation Factory.
It aims to recognise and promote innovative Artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for challenges in agricultural sector. The start-ups, companies and institutions winning the challenge will get Rs 1 lakh prize money along with mentorship from state entities.

UN – Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) is a peace keeping mission of the United Nations in Mali, which was established in 2013. It is considered to be the most dangerous UN operations in the world.
Recently, the peacekeepers’ convoy was attacked by an improvised explosive device (IED) by unidentified gunmen of Mali. The attack led to death of 4 peacekeepers and 5 were wounded.

Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj won the SKOCH Challenger Award under “Transparency in Governance” category.
Transformational initiatives of the Ministry include the launch of SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Scheme, e-GramSwaraj, mActionSoft, AuditOnline and ServicePlus.

Notes:
A Tintin drawing, created by the Belgian artist Herge, is sold recently for €2.6 million (USD 3.1 million) at Paris, France.
This makes the artwork the most expensive comic book art in history. The art contains a red dragon drawn on a black background by the frightened character’s face.

On the occasion of ‘Prarambh: Startup India International Summit’, the Prime Minster Narendra Modi announced the launch of Startup India Seed Fund with a corpus of Rs.1000 crore.
The fund is intended to provide initial capital for startups, which would promote the setting up of new startups and promote their growth. The ‘Prarambh’ summit marked the 5th anniversary of the Startup India initiative, launched in the year 2016.
