Flipkart has announced an MoU with the Logistics Skill Sector Council (LSC), and launched the Centre of Excellence (CoE), to skill the workforce of the e-Commerce Industry.
LSC is an organisation established by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, through National Skill Development Corporation of India (NSDC) and Karnataka Skill Development Centre (KSDC).

Notes:
World Hindi Day is celebrated every year on January 10. Also known as the Vishwa Hindi Divas, it commemorates the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference held in Nagpur on the same day in 1975.
World Hindi Day was first celebrated in the year 2006. Hindi is not most-spoken language of the country, and also the third most-spoken language in the world.

The Tamil Nadu government is to provide free data cards of 2 GB per day to college students to enable them attend online classes till April 2021.
The data cards will be provided to over 9 lakh students studying in government and aided Arts and Sciences colleges, engineering colleges and polytechnic institutions. The Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT) will implement the scheme for self-finance college students.

The market capitalisation of Tata Consultancy Services has recently touched Rs 12 lakh crore, after the company poster its strongest growth in third-quarter.
The profits of the company increased by 7.1 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Reliance Industries (RIL) became the first Indian company to achieve this feat of Rs 12 lakh crore m-cap, in July 2020.

Tenzin Lekphell is the newly appointed Secretary General of the BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation).
He was seen in the news for his visit to Bangladesh. The country is also in the process of building a new premise for the Secretariat. BIMSTEC is a regional organization with 7 countries namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand.

Major Technology companies Apple, Amazon and Google have suspended the social network called Parler.
It is said that the platform has not taken enough measures to control the content inciting violence. In U.S, the conservatives, the right-wing users are the most active participants of the platform including the outgoing U.S President Donald Trump.

The Income Tax Department, under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has launched a new “Faceless penalty scheme”.
It aims to handle the orders for penalty issued under its recently launched faceless assessment programme. Under the scheme, a National Faceless Penalty Centre along with various regional units will be set up, which can confirm or reject the penalty.

The Union Cabinet has recently approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on scientific and technical cooperation between India and UAE
India’s Ministry of Earth Sciences and UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology will collaborate to share knowledge and oceanic services, deploy meteorological observation networks. The countries also aim to support the Tsunami Early Warning Centre (TEWC).

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has recently developed the country’s first indigenous machine pistol.
Named ‘ASMI’, the pistol has been developed by the DRDO along with the help of Indian Army. It is set to replace the 9mm pistols which are currently used in the Defence forces.

United States House of Representatives has voted to impeach President Donald Trump after the riots at the Capitol building.
With this round of impeachment, the Donald Trump becomes the only US president to be impeached a second time. The House impeached him on the charge of incitement of insurrection for his role in the recent riot by his supporters, at the US Capitol.
