Notes:
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has recently approved industrial corridor nodes at Andhra Pradesh’s Krishnapatnam and Karnataka’s Tumakuru.
The nodes are approved under the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC). The project cost of the former node is approved at Rs 2139 crores and the latter is Rs 1701 crores. This will create huge employment opportunities, state-of-the-art infrastructure and connectivity.

Notes:
In the Jhalawar District of Rajasthan, 50 crows had died of Avian influenza (Bird flu) recently. In response, a curfew was imposed surrounding the area.
While, death of crows has also been reported from the city of Jodhpur. The administration ordered to sanitise the affected area and send the samples to the National High Security Animal Disease Laboratory (NHSADL), Bhopal.

The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) is an association of organizations, which regulate the world’s securities and futures markets.
International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), established by the Government of India in 2019, has become an associate member of the IOSCO. With this, IFSCA can exchange information at the global level, learn from the best practices of the other regulators.

Notes:
The world’s largest floating solar energy project is set to be constructed at Omkareshwar dam on Narmada river, Madhya Pradesh.
The 3,000-crore project, which will construct a 600 MW plant, will begin power generation by 2022-23. World Banks’s IFC and Power Grid will provide the financial assistance to this project, which includes installing solar panels in the dam.

Notes:
The 450 km long Natural Gas Pipeline between Kochi in Kerala and Mangaluru in Karnataja is constructed by GAIL (India) Ltd.
The 3000-crore project has been inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, for commercial operations. The pipeline has the transportation capacity of 12 million metric standard cubic metres per day.

Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan released the India report on Longitudinal Ageing Study of India (LASI) Wave-1.
LASI is a nation-wide survey of scientific investigation of the health, economic, and social factors and consequences of the ageing population in India. The report will be used as a basic framework for developing programmes in national and state-level.

Notes:
The Ministry of Economy of Brazil has announced that it had defaulted on its capital instalment to the New Development Bank (NDB).
When the bloc was started by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa in 2015, Brazil agreed to contribute in capitalising the bank in 7 instalments. Now, the country has defaulted two outstanding instalments totalling USD 350 million.

As per the notification from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the Government will start bidding for the next round of spectrum auction from March 1.
During the auction, airwaves of the 4G spectrum in seven bands ranging from 700 MHz to 2500 MHz, worth Rs 3.92 lakh crore will be auctioned. Leading Telecom companies including Reliance Jio and Airtel are expected to take part.

Justice Hima Kohli became the first woman Chief Justice of Telangana High Court when she sworn in, in the presence of Governor of the state.
She was earlier serving as a Delhi High Court judge, prior to this promotion. She had also served as the Standing Counsel and Legal Advisor to the New Delhi Municipal Council. The present Chief Justice of Telangana Raghavendra Singh Chowhan is transferred to Uttarakhand High Court.

Notes:
The country’s first Solar Electric RORO service will be introduced during the year 2021-2022, the Kerala Governor announced in the Assembly.
He also announced that the state’s first amphibious water bus will also be launched. The state has planned to launch barge Service for cargo movement and high-speed tourist services.
