PM-VBRY Gets ₹2,400 Crore Direct Benefit Transfer
Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred ₹2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) on 19 June 2026 in New Delhi. The amount was credited through Direct Benefit Transfer to more than 15 lakh beneficiaries, including first-time employees and employers.
Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana
PM-VBRY is an employment generation scheme with a target of 3.5 crore jobs over two years. The scheme has a total outlay of ₹99,446 crore and was launched in August 2025.
Incentive Structure
Under PM-VBRY, first-time employees can receive an incentive of up to ₹15,000. Employers that create additional employment can receive up to ₹3,000 per month for each new employee.
Coverage and Beneficiaries
Since August 2025, more than 70 lakh jobs have been created under the scheme across India. More than 63 lakh first-time employees have joined the formal workforce under PM-VBRY, and nearly 30% of them are women.
Support for Small Enterprises
More than 80% of the incentivised establishments under PM-VBRY have fewer than 25 workers. Around 20 lakh young people have completed six months in their first jobs, and about 10 lakh have received incentives after reaching this milestone.
