Odisha Transfers Rs 20,648 Crore Under Subhadra Yojana
Odisha has transferred more than Rs 20,648 crore to over one crore women beneficiaries under the Subhadra Yojana in four instalments as of 10 July 2026. The fifth instalment of Rs 5,000 per beneficiary is scheduled for Rakhi Purnima in August 2026.
Subhadra Yojana: Basic Features
Subhadra Yojana is a women-centric welfare scheme launched in Bhubaneswar on 17 September 2024. The scheme provides eligible women aged 21 to 60 years with financial assistance of Rs 50,000 over five years, which equals Rs 10,000 per year.
Installment Pattern and Eligibility
The annual assistance under the scheme is credited in two instalments of Rs 5,000 each. The first instalment is linked to Rakhi Purnima, and the second instalment is linked to International Women’s Day on 8 March. About 1.15 crore applications have been registered under the scheme so far. Around 1.01 crore women have been identified as eligible beneficiaries for the fifth instalment after verification.
Administrative Review and Verification Process
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who heads the Women and Child Development Department, reviewed preparations for the fifth instalment on 10 July 2026. Officials have been asked to complete field verification of pending applications by 25 July 2026.
