NLC India arm NIRL to set up 900 MW solar power project

NLC India Ltd has announced a 900 MW solar power project through its wholly owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL). The project received a Letter of Intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for development in Gujarat under a tariff-based competitive bidding process.

Project Structure and Procurement

The 900 MW capacity will be developed in ultra-mega renewable energy parks in Gujarat, including the Khavda Solar Park cluster. Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited will procure the electricity generated from the project under the bidding framework.

NLC India Renewables Ltd

NLC India Renewables Ltd was incorporated on 14 June 2023. The company works on solar power, wind energy and green hydrogen projects, and it functions as the renewable energy arm of NLC India Ltd.

Renewable Energy Expansion Plans

NLC India has earlier secured a 600 MW contract in the Khavda park. The company aims to add about 2 GW of renewable capacity by the end of the current financial year and 10 GW by 2030.
