Madhya Pradesh Receives Semiconductor Proposals Worth Over ₹15,400 Crore

The Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Summit 2026 opened in Indore on 23 October 2026. The state received semiconductor investment proposals stated at over ₹15,400 crore. The announced figures included around ₹5,800 crore in new proposals and land-allocation letters of intent for five companies proposing projects worth approximately ₹10,000 crore.

Investment Proposals

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the new proposals could generate more than 10,000 employment opportunities. Una Ecosystems proposed a ₹2,000-crore electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) facility, with an estimated 2,000 jobs. Spintronics AI Semiconductors proposed investing ₹1,800 crore in two phases, while Lalwala Industries proposed ₹1,200 crore for semiconductor manufacturing and chip design. Other proposals announced on 23 October included ₹400 crore from Dhanush Healthcare Systems, ₹110 crore from Beyond Studios, ₹100 crore from Indusilica Semiconductors, ₹65 crore from Nanodrites Technology and ₹10 crore from Truechip Solutions. The stated aggregate varies: one figure is over ₹15,400 crore, while another is ₹15,800 crore, comprising ₹10,000 crore in allotted projects and ₹5,800 crore in new proposals.

Semiconductor Packaging and Chip Design

Paras Semiconductors, a subsidiary of Paras Defence and Space Technologies, signed a memorandum of understanding on 22 July 2026 for a proposed ₹6,200-crore greenfield facility in the Indore–Ujjain region. The facility is planned for outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT), a stage of the semiconductor supply chain that includes chip assembly, packaging and testing. The proposed facility is designed for 3D heterogeneous integration and 2.5D/3D advanced integrated-circuit packaging. Heterogeneous integration combines different semiconductor components or chips within a single package. Integrated circuits contain interconnected electronic components fabricated on semiconductor material.

Research and Institutional Facilities

The state government announced plans for a Centre of Excellence for Photonics and Quantum Technologies and a Semiconductor Centre of Excellence. Their stated areas include research, innovation, chip design and skills development. During the summit, Yadav held individual meetings with representatives of more than 12 companies and institutions.

Important Facts for Exams

  • OSAT stands for outsourced semiconductor assembly and test.
  • ESDM stands for electronics system design and manufacturing.
  • Integrated circuits are fabricated on semiconductor materials and contain interconnected electronic components.
  • Photonics concerns the generation, transmission and detection of light.
