KDEM, GoodWorks Target ₹5,000 Crore GCC Investment
The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) and GoodWorks Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 6 August 2026 to accelerate the growth of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in Karnataka. The partnership has set a target of more than ₹5,000 crore in fresh GCC investment commitments and aims to establish 50 new GCCs in the state.
Global Capability Centres in India
Global Capability Centres are offshore units set up by multinational corporations to manage functions such as technology, finance, research, analytics, and operations. India has become a major GCC destination because of its skilled workforce, digital infrastructure, and established technology ecosystem in cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Gurugram.
Karnataka’s Technology Ecosystem
Karnataka is one of India’s leading technology states and Bengaluru is a major centre for information technology, start-ups, and multinational corporate operations. The state hosts a large concentration of engineering talent, software services firms, and innovation-led enterprises, which supports the expansion of GCCs.
Investment, Jobs and Real Estate
The partnership is projected to generate more than 62,500 direct and indirect jobs. It is also expected to create ₹2,250 crore in annual salaries and absorb 1.25 million square feet of commercial real estate.
GoodWorks Group will use its Sansovi GCC-as-a-Service platform to support multinational corporations in setting up and scaling operations in India. The MoU also includes outreach to North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and the Middle East.
