India Joins Anthropic’s Advanced AI Programme

Anthropic expanded access to its Claude Mythos Preview AI model on 2 June 2026 under Project Glasswing to about 150 organisations across more than 15 countries, including India. The expansion covers organisations linked to critical infrastructure sectors such as power grids, water systems, healthcare, and telecommunications.

Anthropic is a United States-based artificial intelligence company known for the Claude family of large language models. Claude AI services are used for text generation, coding, analysis, and enterprise applications.

Project Glasswing and Mythos AI

Project Glasswing is the programme under which Anthropic expanded access to Claude Mythos Preview. The Mythos AI model has controlled access because of its advanced cyber capabilities and the risk of misuse in digital systems.

India’s AI Engagement with Anthropic

Anthropic announced its first office in India in October 2025, and the office opened in Bengaluru in early 2026. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on 11 October 2025.

Market Presence and Use Cases in India

India became Anthropic’s second-largest market for Claude AI services after the United States. Claude code usage in India increased fivefold since June 2025, and Anthropic has linked its India strategy to startups, education, healthcare, agriculture, and enterprise partnerships.

India and Anthropic are set to co-host the Global AI Summit 2026 in February 2026. The summit is planned to bring together technology leaders, startups, researchers, and policymakers on responsible AI development.
