Cambridge Teacher Awards 2026: Soma Mandal wins South Asia title

Soma Mandal, an Indian science teacher from GD Goenka Public School, Delhi, won the South Asia regional title of the Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards 2026 on 6 and 7 May 2026. The award is presented by the International Education group at Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

The Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards recognise teachers across regions and countries. The 2026 edition selected nine regional winners globally from more than 12,000 nominations received from 126 countries.

Soma Mandal was recognised for developing a climate-focused curriculum at her school. Her work included student engagement with environmental issues and participation in climate change-related activities.

As a regional winner, she will receive books worth £500 for her class, a trophy, and publicity for her school. Her name will also appear on a “Thank you” page in new Cambridge textbooks scheduled for release in November 2026.
