Some of the agro products such as tea, sugar, oilseeds, tobacco, spices and fibers make India’s main items of exports. The following table sourced from DGCI&S, Ministry of Commerce, Kolkata, created on 25.5.2010 shows the scenario of role of Agriculture in India’s International Business.

- On an average since 1991 share of agriculture in India’s total exports has been 4.85% and in exports 15.24%.
- In 2008-09, share of agriculture in India’s total importans was 2.74% and share of agriculture in India’s total exports was 10.23%.
- The share of agriculture in India’s exports was around 18-20 % in the 1990s which has now decreased to around 10-12%.
