GIFT City Rises to 37th Position in Global Ranking
GIFT City, or Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, ranked 37th globally in the Global Financial Centres Index 40 and 26th in the FinTech rankings in September 2026. The index assessed 139 financial hubs worldwide through 144 quantitative measures and 39,531 professional assessments.

The Global Financial Centres Index is a ranking of international financial centres based on competitiveness, business environment, human capital, infrastructure, financial sector development, and reputation. GFCI 40 was published by Z/Yen Partners, a London-based think tank, and the China Development Institute.
GIFT City and India in the Index
GIFT City moved up nine places to 37th position in GFCI 40. It became the sole Indian financial centre among the top 15 hubs in the Asia-Pacific region, while Mumbai moved up three places to 49th position.
FinTech Ranking and Regulatory Framework
GIFT City rose three places to 26th in the FinTech rankings in GFCI 40. The International Financial Services Centres Authority regulates financial services in GIFT City under a framework that supports international financial activity and cross-border transactions.
