Ex Khaan Quest 2023

The multinational peacekeeping joint exercise, Ex Khaan Quest 2023, has commenced in Mongolia, marking an important event in the realm of international military cooperation. This 14-day exercise aims to enhance interoperability, share experiences, and train uniformed personnel for United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKO). It serves as a platform for military contingents and observers from more than 20 countries to come together and engage in cooperative training. 

Inauguration and Co-sponsors 

The President of Mongolia, Mr. Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, inaugurated Ex Khaan Quest 2023. The exercise is co-sponsored by the Mongolian Armed Forces (MAF) and the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC). This joint effort reflects the commitment of these organizations to fostering international cooperation in peacekeeping initiatives. 

Indian Army Contingent 

Representing the Indian Army in Ex Khaan Quest 2023 is a contingent from the GARHWAL RIFLES. The Indian Army’s participation demonstrates its dedication to global peacekeeping efforts and its willingness to collaborate with other nations for shared objectives. 

Objectives and Activities 

The primary objective of the 14-day exercise is to enhance interoperability among participating nations, facilitate the sharing of experiences, and train uniformed personnel for future UN Peacekeeping missions. Ex Khaan Quest 2023 includes various activities such as Command Post Exercises (CPX), Field Training Exercises (FTX), combat discussions, lectures, and demonstrations. These activities contribute to the development of peace operations capabilities and the enhancement of military readiness. 

Enhancing Defence Cooperation and Bilateral Relations 

Through its participation in Ex Khaan Quest 2023, the Indian Army aims to enhance defence cooperation with participating countries, particularly the Mongolian Armed Forces. This exercise provides a valuable opportunity for building stronger bilateral relations between India and Mongolia, fostering trust and collaboration in the realm of defense.
