Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a six-point action plan to completely clean the Yamuna by 2025.
The action plan includes building new sewage treatment plants (STP), increasing capacity of existing STPs, and introducing new technology to ensure that pollutants do not flow into the Yamuna. The Delhi Government also proposed to connect every household to the sewer network. It also proposes diverting industrial waste.

Notes:
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has notified a uniform goods and services tax rate of 12 per cent on fabrics, apparel, and footwear.
The new rate aims to correct the inverted duty structure and the changed rates will come into effect from January 1, 2022. Earlier the GST Rate was 5 per cent for sale value up to Rs 1,000 per piece in the case of apparels and per pair in the case of footwear.

The Indian Police Foundation (IPF) launched the Smart Policing Index 2021. IPF used six competency-based dimensions and three values-based dimensions of trust in the survey. It measures public perceptions and citizen satisfaction in the survey.
The level of satisfaction with the quality of policing was highest in Andhra Pradesh (8.11), Telangana (8.10), Assam (7.89). They are followed by Kerala, Sikkim and Mizoram.

Japan’s Cabinet approved a record 56 trillion yen ($490 billion) stimulus package, to help the economy worsened by the coronavirus pandemic.
The plan includes $880 each in monetary assistance to those 18 years or younger, and aid for businesses whose sales declined because of Covid measures. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced the plan, which still needs parliamentary approval.

‘World Toilet Day’ is observed on November 19 every year by the United Nations. The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and ensure collective action to tackle the global sanitation crisis.
This year, the theme is ‘Valuing toilets’. The campaign highlights the way the sanitation systems are underfunded or ineffectively managed in many parts of the world.
