Notes:
The first commercial consignment of GI-certified Jardalu mangoes from Bhagalpur, Bihar was exported to the United Kingdom.
APEDA, in collaboration with Bihar government, Indian High Commission & Invest India, exported the mangoes that were packed and treated at APEDA packhouse, Lucknow. Jardalu mangoes from Bhagalpur district of Bihar received GI certification in 2018, due to their distinct aroma and taste.

Notes:
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a Consultative Document on Regulation of Microfinance. This is in line with the announcement of RBI in the fifth Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement.
The suggested framework is aimed at protecting the microfinance borrowers from over-indebtedness. It also aims to enable competitive forces to bring down the interest rates. The proposals include a common definition of microfinance loans, no prepayment penalty etc.

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa announced Rs 1 lakh relief to each family under Below Poverty Line (BPL) which has lost an earning or adult member due to COVID-19.
This decision will benefit about 25,000 to 30,000 such families incurring an expenditure of Rs 250 crore to Rs 300 crore to the state.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has appointed BASL to grant recognition to registered
investment advisers (RIAs) and supervise them. At present, these functions are discharged directly by SEBI.

Notes:
WISA Woodsat is a nano satellite, which would be the world’s first wooden satellite to be launched to space by the end of this year from New Zealand.
This nanosatellite is a cube shaped structure made of birch plywood with its sensors developed by the European Space Agency (ESA). It would be launched from a rocket electron which is developed by “Rocket Lab” – an American space company.
