Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the India Chem 2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi with the theme ‘Vision 2030: Chemicals and Petrochemicals Build India’.
The 12th edition of INDIA CHEM was organised in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). India’s export of chemicals for 2021-22 has hit a record at USD 29,296 Million.

The Ministry of Electronics and IT has approved the greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) to be set up in Ranjangaon Phase III, near Pune in Maharashtra.
The project cost of the Cluster is Rs 492.85 crores. There are EMCs in Noida, Tirupati, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where multi-national companies and Indian start-ups have set up their units.

‘National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Patel, who served as the first Home Minister of India after Independence, is also known as the ‘The Iron Man of India’ for his efforts for the unification of over 550 princely states. This year marks the 147th anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the pilot for a central-bank-backed digital rupee for the wholesale segment.
RBI announced this in a statement on ‘Operationalisation of Central Bank Digital Currency-Wholesale (e ₹-W) Pilot’. The nine banks selected for the pilot are State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, IDFC First Bank and HSBC.

China recently launched a lab module called Mengtian to be part of its space station currently under construction.
The second lab component was launched by Long March-5B Y4 and will be used for studying microgravity and carrying out experiments in fluid physics, materials science, combustion science and fundamental physics. Wentian lab which was sent earlier focused on biological and space life sciences.
