The European Intelligence Unit (EIU) recently released the Global Liveability Index 2022, which ranked 173 cities on the basis of their living conditions.
Five Indian cities- Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmadabad and Bangalore were included in the list. Delhi was ranked the best at 140, followed by Mumbai at 141, Chennai and Ahmadabad at 142 and 143 respectively. Bengaluru was the last of Indian cities at 146^th rank.

Notes:
Union Food Minister Piyush Goyal released the first State Ranking Index for implementation of the National Food Security Act, 2013. The states and UTs were ranked based on three parameters for the year 2022.
Among the 20 big states and Union Territories (UTs), Odisha topped the index followed by Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, while Goa was at the last. Tripura ranked first and Ladakh was at the last among the 14 smaller states and UTs.

Fields Medal is also described the Nobel Prize in mathematics. Ukrainian mathematician Maryna Viazovska, who works in Switzerland, was named as one of four recipients of the 2022 Fields Medal.
The Fields Medal is awarded by the International Mathematical Union (IMU), an international non-governmental and non-profit scientific organisation to promote international cooperation in mathematics.

Union Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced setting up of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Memorial Award in public administration in the field of academic excellence.
He announced the award in memory of the first President of India, while he chaired the meeting of Executive Council of Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) in New Delhi.

India’s services industry expanded at the fastest rate in over eleven years in June 2022 amid strong demand.
The S&P Global India Services Purchasing Managers’ Index rose to 59.2 in June, its highest since April 2011. As per the survey, stubborn inflation remains a concern as prices charged rose at the sharpest rate in almost five years.
