The ‘Contingency Fund of India’ is held by the Finance Ministry’s Department of economic affairs on behalf of the President of India.
It can be operated by executive action and used during disasters and related unforeseen expenditures. Recently, the Government has tweaked spending norms for Contingency Fund, allowing 40 per cent of the total corpus to be placed at disposal of the expenditure secretary.

The Assam government is set to confer the state’s highest civilian award ‘Assam Baibhav’ on industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata.
The state will also confer Assam Baibhav, Assam Saurav and Assam Gaurav Awards. The Assam Saurav award will be conferred on fiver personalities including Olympics medallist Lovlina Borgohain.

The Australian government has bought the copyright of the Aboriginal flag, to free the symbol of identity from fights over who can use it.
Indigenous artist Harold Thomas created the flag in 1971 as a protest image. It is used as the dominant Aboriginal emblem and an official national flag. Now, the flag can be reproduced by anyone without fear of legal threats.

Facebook parent company Meta has announced that its new Artificial intelligence supercomputer will be the fastest in the world by the middle of next year.
Meta has introduced AI Research SuperCluster (RSC), which is among the fastest AI supercomputers running at present and will be the fastest in the world once fully built out in mid-2022.

Researchers have recently found scientific evidence of a strong anti-cancer activity in the ethyl acetate fraction of Halodule uninervis.
It is a species of sea-grass found in the coastal region near Rameswaram in southern Tamil Nadu. It evaluated the activity of the species against various human cancer cell lines, including malignant melanoma, lung, cervix, carcinoma and colorectal cancers.
