Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter has detected solar proton events, via its Large Area Soft X-ray Spectrometer (CLASS).
The proton events are said to increase the radiation exposure to humans in space. Earlier, the instrument also recorded coronal mass ejections (CMEs), a stream of ionised material and magnetic fields, leading to geomagnetic storms.

The World Economic Forum and the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on ‘Sustainable Cities India program’.
It is a jointly designed project, which aims to create an enabling environment for cities to generate decarbonization solutions across energy, transport, and the built environment sectors. They will adapt the WEF’s ‘City Sprint process and Toolbox of Solutions for decarbonization’

China’s Yutu-2 rover has recently spotted two strange glass spheres on the far side of the Moon. The lunar ‘spherules’ are the first of their kind to be found on the lunar surface.
As per researchers, they are formed fairly recently. Though Glass has been spotted on the moon before, by both the Yutu-2 rover and NASA’s Apollo 16 mission, this is the first sight of Glass spheres.

All India Chess Federation Bharat Singh organises the 58th Senior National Chess Championship-2022 at Kanpur. It is participated by 184 players, including 23 grandmasters and 30 international masters in the field.
It will be a selection platform for the Indian squads for the Chess Olympiad and Asian Games. The 7th National Women Chess Championship-2022 is held at Bhubaneswar.

Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) of Ministry of Culture, Government of India is organizing an international conference ‘Devayatanam – An odyssey of Indian temple architecture at Hampi, Karnataka.
The Union Minister for Culture G Kishan Reddy inaugurated the conference. It aims to highlight the philosophical, religious, social, economic, technical, scientific, art and architectural aspects of temple. It also aims to deliberate upon the evolution of various styles of temple architecture
