Notes:
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed between the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) for data exchange between the two organisations.
This MoU succeeds the agreement signed between them in the year 2015. During the event, a Data Exchange Steering Group has also been constituted that will meet periodically to review the data exchange status.

Notes:
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) had asked all insurance companies to launch a standardised insurance cover for COVID-19 disease.
Under the Corona Kavach Policy, the minimum sum insured will be Rs 50000 and the maximum sum insured will be Rs 5 lakh. Recently, IRDAI has allowed the insurers to offer this policy as a group insurance product. A discount of 5% is provided to the group of doctors or healthcare workers.

Notes:
Sumit Deb has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), the iron ore mining company of the country.
Sumit Deb is serving as the Director (Personnel) in the NMDC. He succeeds N Baijendra Kumar who is set to superannuate this month-end. After the appointment, Sumit Deb will have tenure till 2023.

India and Maldives have recently signed an agreement for establishment of ‘Emergency Medical Services’ in the capital of Maldives, Male.
India is set to grant assistance of around 20 million US dollars to Maldives for this project. India has been assisting the country in several small and medium projects. This medical service facility will ensure quality emergency care during critical times.

Notes:
India has sent its first trial containership ‘MV Shejyoti’ from Kolkata to Agartala through Chattogram port of Bangladesh.
The ship contains iron bars and pulses to be transhipped to North-Eastern states of India. The ship also contains containers imported by the traders of Bangladesh. It has recently arrived in the Chattogram port.
