Ayush Ministry Signs MoU with BHASHINI for Multilingual Digital Healthcare Services
The Ministry of Ayush signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Digital India BHASHINI Division under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on 14 May 2026 in New Delhi. The MoU covers multilingual digital healthcare services for Ayush knowledge systems and related citizen-facing platforms.
BHASHINI and Digital Language Technology
BHASHINI is the National Language Translation Mission under the Digital India programme. It uses artificial intelligence and language technology for speech-to-text, text-to-text, and translation services in Indian languages. The partnership uses BHASHINI language tools for transcription and translation of Ayush content into multiple Indian languages.
Ayush Digital Platforms and Language Access
The collaboration includes integration of BHASHINI across Ayush Grid portals, mobile applications, and AI tools. The stated objective is to support multilingual accessibility and content standardisation across Ayush digital services. The initiative seeks to make Ayush services available in all 22 scheduled Indian languages listed in the Constitution of India.
Ayush Systems Covered Under the MoU
The MoU covers Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homoeopathy. The partnership also includes domain-specific multilingual terminology systems, Ayush language datasets, and contextual AI models for healthcare and wellness communication.
