Annpurna Devi to Launch 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah

The 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah will be launched on 9 September 2026 at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Smt. Annpurna Devi, Union Minister of Women and Child Development, will lead the launch ceremony with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Minister of State Smt. Savitri Thakur, and UP Cabinet Minister Smt. Baby Rani Maurya.

Rashtriya Poshan Maah

Rashtriya Poshan Maah is a month-long national nutrition campaign observed in September under the Poshan Abhiyaan framework. The 2026 edition carries the theme “Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari” and runs throughout September 2026.

Key Focus Areas of the 2026 Campaign

The September 2026 campaign is organised around five focus areas. These are Dietary Diversity and Adequate Protein, Fresh and Diverse Hot Cooked Meals, Community Ownership, Nutrition and Early Childhood Development, and the 10th year of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

Programme Linkages and Institutional Framework

The campaign draws programme support from the revised Supplementary Nutrition Programme Guidelines under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. Poshan Abhiyaan was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 8 March 2018 as a national nutrition mission.
