Aadhaar App Crosses 31 Million Downloads

The new Aadhaar App crossed 31 million downloads within five months of its launch. The app was developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India and is available on Android and Apple iOS platforms.

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identity number issued under the Aadhaar Act, 2016. The Unique Identification Authority of India functions as the statutory authority for enrolment, authentication, and update services linked to Aadhaar.

Digital Services in the App

The new Aadhaar App includes one-click biometric lock and unlock, face verification, authentication history, and a QR-based editable contact card. Nearly 4 million users have updated their mobile numbers through the app, and about 850,000 users have updated their address.
