V.D. Satheesan Named Kerala Chief Minister
On 14 May 2026, the Congress party announced V.D. Satheesan as the Chief Minister of Kerala after the United Democratic Front won 102 of 140 seats in the Kerala Assembly elections. Satheesan, born on 31 May 1964, became the 13th Chief Minister of Kerala and had served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2021 to 2026.
