Thailand’s abortion law

Thailand’s abortion law was amended recently the parliament to legally permit abortion during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Before this, the law imposed up to 3 years prison term for anyone undertaking abortion and up to 5 years for those performing the same. While this law is welcomed, it is still being criticized for penalising women undergoing abortion during the later stage of pregnancy.
