Telangana Deploys AI in Emergency Response System

Telangana police are deploying artificial intelligence tools in the integrated emergency response network of 112 and Dial 100 to filter spam calls and improve handling of genuine emergencies. Genuine emergencies account for about 0.28% of nearly 16 lakh daily calls in the state’s emergency response system.

AI in Emergency Call Management

The emergency response network in Telangana uses 112 as the national emergency number and Dial 100 as the police helpline. AI-based filtering systems are being used to separate repeated, irrelevant, and fraudulent calls from urgent distress calls.

Cybercrime Helpline and Voice Assistance

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau deployed an AI-powered voice assistant at the 1930 cybercrime helpline. The system accepts calls in English, Telugu, and Hindi, transcribes conversations into English, and generates structured complaint reports for cyber fraud cases. The AI assistant has reduced caller waiting time to zero and has accelerated the reporting and freezing of stolen funds in cybercrime cases. Telangana recorded a 3% decline in cybercrime complaints in 2025, while the national figure showed a 24% increase.

Social Media Monitoring and Child Safety

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau developed an AI-based monitoring system with Meta in November 2025. By 25 March 2026, the system had intervened in 76 of 89 identified suicide or distress signals on social media platforms. On 24 June 2026, Telangana police deployed C-SIGHT, described as India’s first sovereign AI platform, for identifying child sexual abuse offenders, analysing digital evidence, and supporting investigations into crimes against children.

Digital Public Infrastructure for AI

Telangana Data Exchange, or TGDeX, is planned as India’s first state-led Digital Public Infrastructure for AI. The platform is being developed by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and is intended for use in healthcare, agriculture, education, and governance.
