Romeo and Juliet’ clause

‘Romeo and Juliet’ clause is a part of the French age of consent legislation that provides exemptions for sexual relationships between a minor (below 15 years) and an adult (up to 5 years older) from punitive action. This clause is not applicable in case of rape. Recently, the Lower House of the French Parliament passed the age of consent bill that sets a clear age of consent at 15 years for the first time in its history.
