The India International Conference on Democracy and Election Management (IICDEM 2026) unveiled its official logo ahead of the three-day conference at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from January 21, 2026. The conference is organised by the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) under the Election Commission of India (ECI). The theme of the conference is “Democracy for an inclusive, peaceful, resilient and sustainable world.” The logo features stylised human forms resembling protective hands, symbolising citizens as the foundation of democracy and the responsibility to safeguard democratic values.

The first International Conference on Green Artificial Intelligence (AI) was held on January 24 and 25 at the Dubai Police Academy. It was organised by the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment with the Dubai Police Academy and Curtin University Dubai. The event focused on using Artificial Intelligence for environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

Notes:
India will host the first Global Big Cat Summit this year. Leaders and ministers from 95 big cat range countries will participate. The summit will focus on collective and coordinated strategies for big cat conservation. It aims to strengthen international cooperation and protect natural habitats. The initiative will promote sustainable wildlife tourism and habitat protection. India plays a leading role as it has the world’s largest wild tiger population.

The World Government Summit 2026 opened in Dubai under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and technology in public policy. The summit includes more than 445 sessions with over 450 global leaders, including presidents, ministers, and experts. Discussions focus on strengthening government policies, international cooperation, economic, social, and technological challenges, and the future of public finance and leadership. Tariff volatility and inflationary concerns were mitigated as global trade adjusted, with effective tariffs around 9% versus earlier estimates of 20%.

Election Commission of India (ECI) will host the National Conference of State Election Commissioners (SECs) on 24 February 2026. The conference will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi after a gap of more than 25 years. The last National SEC Conference was held in 1999. State Election Commissioners from all States and Union Territories will attend along with legal and technical experts. Chief Electoral Officers of all 36 States and Union Territories will also participate. The aim is to build coordination between Election Commission of India (ECI) and State Election Commissioners (SECs) in electoral processes and logistics.

The two-day Black Swan Summit India has begun in Bhubaneswar, organised by the Odisha Government under the BharatNetra initiative. The summit aims to position Odisha as a hub for Artificial Intelligence, FinTech, and InsurTech. It seeks to translate the state’s Vision 2036–2047 into actionable outcomes in digital finance and advanced technologies. Nearly 100 speakers from five continents are participating. Skill development and employment are key themes, with a job fair for youth.

The conference was jointly organised by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) and the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN) under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. The main theme of the conference was “Yoga and Naturopathy for a Stronger and Healthier You”, with the sub-theme “SamYog” focusing on integrating Ayush systems with modern medicine for public health interventions.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development organized the National Conference on Safety of Women at Workplace (SHe-Box) at Vigyan Bhawan on 14 February 2026. The event aimed to reaffirm the Government’s commitment to safe, dignified, and harassment-free workplaces for women and strengthen implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (PoSH Act). The SHe-Box portal, launched on 29 August 2024, provides a secure, multilingual platform for filing complaints online, automatic forwarding to concerned committees, and real-time tracking for transparency and accountability.

Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal, Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs, graced the International Conference on Evolving Landscape of Housing Finance as Chief Guest at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on 12–13 February 2026. The two-day conference was jointly organised by the National Housing Bank (NHB) and the Asia Pacific Union for Housing Finance (APUHF) under the theme “Inclusivity, Stability and Sustainability.” The importance of integrated urban planning was highlighted, including transport-linked housing development and innovative mechanisms such as a National Housing Exchange–like platform supported by comprehensive housing data to reduce commute time and improve housing access.
