The 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG 2025) will be held on 22-23 September 2025 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It is jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and Government of Andhra Pradesh. IIM Visakhapatnam will be the knowledge partner for the conference. The theme is “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation”. The conference will showcase best practices, emerging trends, and collaboration in digital governance for public service delivery.

India has been elected as chairman of the Executive Board of Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) with the highest votes at the 23rd AIBD General Conference in Phuket, Thailand (19–21 August 2025). India last held this position in 2016, and this strengthens its leadership role as it also serves as President of AIBD General Conference until August 2025. AIBD, founded in 1977 under UNESCO, has 92 member organizations from 45 countries. The conference theme was “Media for People, Peace & Prosperity,” highlighting India’s growing global influence in broadcasting.

On the sidelines of the annual Chiefs of Defence Conference (CHODs) 2025, India’s Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC) held meetings with senior defence officials from Vietnam, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Discussions focused on broadening defence cooperation, advancing maritime collaboration, professional military exchanges, and exploring technology partnerships. The CHODs 2025 conference was held at Dusit Thani Hua Hin, Thailand. The theme was “Peace through Strength – Ensuring Security and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.” The conference highlighted the importance of collaboration among nations to address complex and evolving security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI) and Tea Board India will host the 8th India International Tea Conference in Kochi, Kerala, from September 18 to 20, 2025. The theme is “Innovating the Tea Ecosystem for Tomorrow,” focusing on automation, digitisation, advanced technologies, and sustainable practices. More than 450 delegates and key decision-makers from more than 10 tea-producing and consuming countries will participate. The event will feature panel discussions, technical sessions, an industrial exhibition, and business-to-business networking.

Recently, the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference was inaugurated in Kolkata. The event, held once every two years, is the apex-level brainstorming forum of the Armed Forces. The theme for 2025 is ‘Year of Reforms – Transformation for the Future’, focusing on modernisation and transformation. The Armed Forces were appreciated for Operation Sindoor, nation building, anti-piracy, evacuation of citizens from conflict zones, and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions. Instructions were given to achieve Jointness, Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), and Innovation in defence. The conference will review operational readiness, past reforms, global uncertainties, and plan a roadmap for future challenges.

The 5th World Teak Conference (WTC) was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kochi, Kerala on September 17, 2025. India hosted the summit for the first time. More than 350 delegates from 40+ countries attended, including forestry scientists, policymakers, researchers, and trade representatives. The conference focused on sustainable teak management, conservation, and the future of the global teak industry.

India hosted the BIMSTEC Young Leaders’ Summit in Guwahati, Assam, from September 9–11, 2025. The event was organised with Bharat Scouts and Guides and inaugurated by Assam Governor. More than 80 participants from all BIMSTEC countries joined, representing politics, business, socio-cultural and civil society sectors. The summit highlighted India’s North East as a land bridge for Bay of Bengal connectivity. It is part of the 21-point action plan announced at the 6th BIMSTEC Summit and aligns with Neighborhood First, Act East, and Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions (MAHASAGAR) visions.

GFRS 2025 is held from 26-27 September at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, organized by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, alongside World Food India 2025 by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI). The theme is “Evolving Food Systems – Yatha Annam Tatha Manah,” emphasizing the link between food quality, health, and society. The Summit provides a platform for global regulators to harmonize standards, strengthen risk assessment, and explore food safety technology.
