Thirukkural, written by Thiruvalluvar, is a classic Tamil text with 1,330 couplets offering wisdom on ethics, governance, love, and spirituality. It is divided into three sections: Aram (Virtue), Porul (Wealth), and Inbam (Love), covering a wide range of moral and practical guidance. The couplets are concise and poetic, making them memorable and quotable. Thirukkural has had a profound influence on Tamil culture and life.

The first Raisina Middle East Conference was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on 28-29 January 2025. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar was the Chief Guest. Dr. Jaishankar visited the UAE from 27-29 January 2025. This was his third visit to the UAE since his reappointment in June 2024. The Raisina Dialogue is India’s top conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics. The event was organised by the Observer Research Foundation, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and India’s Ministry of External Affairs. The conference brought together policymakers, academics, media, and business leaders to discuss regional and global integration.

IIAS-DARPG India Conference 2025 is held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from February 10-14, 2025. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the event. IIAS-DARPG stands for International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) and Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). 240 delegates from 55 countries have registered. The theme is “Next Generation Administrative Reforms – Reaching the Last Mile.” The event focuses on public administration, governance, and policymaking innovations. India is hosting the IIAS Conference for the first time, making it the first South Asian country to do so.

Brazil will host the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 6-7, 2025. As the 2025 chair, Brazil aims to focus on global governance reform and stronger cooperation among Global South nations. BRICS was founded in 2009 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, with South Africa joining in 2010. The bloc now has 11 full members: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Ethiopia, Iran, and Indonesia.

A joint regional official language conference was recently held in Jaipur. It is organized by the Official Language Department of the Home Ministry. Around 3,000 participants from Central Government offices, nationalized banks, PSUs, and Town Official Language Implementation Committees attended. Best-performing institutions were honored for promoting the use of Hindi in government work. The main objective was to encourage Hindi usage in government departments.

The Asia Economic Dialogue (AED) is an international geoeconomic conference. It is organized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Pune International Centre (PIC). It is one of the three key Track 1.5 dialogues supported by the MEA. The 6th edition is held in Pune from February 20 to 22, 2025. The theme is “Economic Resilience and Resurgence in an Era of Fragmentation.”

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, hosts the “Invest MP Global Investor Summit” (GIS) 2025 on February 24-25. The summit aims to attract global and domestic investors to Madhya Pradesh.
