India has been elected as chairman of the Executive Board of Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) with the highest votes at the 23rd AIBD General Conference in Phuket, Thailand (19–21 August 2025). India last held this position in 2016, and this strengthens its leadership role as it also serves as President of AIBD General Conference until August 2025. AIBD, founded in 1977 under UNESCO, has 92 member organizations from 45 countries. The conference theme was “Media for People, Peace & Prosperity,” highlighting India’s growing global influence in broadcasting.

Shri Om Birla, Lok Sabha Speaker, will lead the Indian Parliamentary Delegation at the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC). The 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) will be hosted by the Parliament of Barbados and CPA Barbados Branch in Bridgetown, Barbados from 5-12 October 2025. The theme for 2025 is “The Commonwealth – A Global Partner”.

The First International Pali Conference was organized at Kandy, Sri Lanka, by India’s Assistant High Commission in Kandy in partnership with the University of Peradeniya, in August 2025. The conference focused on “The Future of the Pali Language”. The event brought together scholars from Sri Lanka, India, and other countries. Discussions focused on Theravada traditions, manuscript studies, and Pali’s journey from a classical medium to a living language. It was the first international Pali conference hosted by the University of Peradeniya. Pali is recognised as a classical language in India by the Government of India.

Discussions focused on broadening defence cooperation, advancing maritime collaboration, professional military exchanges, and exploring technology partnerships. The CHODs 2025 conference was held at Dusit Thani Hua Hin, Thailand. The theme was “Peace through Strength – Ensuring Security and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.” The conference highlighted the importance of collaboration among nations to address complex and evolving security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

North East Region Ministers’ Conference on Civil Aviation 2025 & 3rd North East Aviation Summit held in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The event was organised by Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Government of India, with participation from North Eastern States and industry stakeholders. Operational airports in the region increased from 9 in 2014 to 16 in 2025; domestic passenger traffic more than tripled. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) 2025 in Kolkata, West Bengal, from September 15 to 17. The Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) is the top-level forum of the Armed Forces for conceptual and strategic discussions with civil and military leadership. The theme for Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) 2025 is “Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future”. Focus areas are Reforms, Transformation and Change, and Operational Preparedness. It reflects commitment to institutional reforms, deeper integration, and technological modernisation with multi-domain readiness.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the International Conference on Space 2025 in Bengaluru, highlighting India’s transformative space goals. India aims to establish a Bharatiya Space Station by 2035 and send an Indian astronaut to the Moon by 2040. The conference, themed “Harnessing Space for Global Progress: Innovation, Policy, and Growth,” hosted more than 500 delegates including government officials, industry leaders, academics, and startups. The conference was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), it focused on India’s evolving space strategy.

Chennai will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in 2027, the golden jubilee year of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The three-day summit will include an International Coast Guard Fleet Review and a World Coast Guard Seminar. It will serve as a global platform to discuss emerging maritime challenges and promote international maritime cooperation. The decision was taken unanimously at the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in Rome on September 12, attended by delegates from 115 countries and organisations.
