Recently, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated a two-day National Conference of Estimates Committees of Parliament and States and Union Territories (UTs) Legislative Bodies in Mumbai. Nearly 90 percent of the recommendations made by the committees for citizen welfare have been implemented. The use of modern technology was encouraged to further enhance committee functioning.

Recently, the third National Conference on Responsible Business Conduct (NCRBC) 2025 was inaugurated by Shri Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways, at Taj Palace, New Delhi. It was organised by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), the two-day event focused on “Integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) for Viksit Bharat.” The event highlighted India’s shift from regulatory prosecution to trust-based corporate governance with ESG at the centre of business strategy.

Recently, Brazil hosted the BRICS Summit 2025 in Rio de Janeiro. Leaders of BRICS gathered for a two-day summit to discuss stronger cooperation. The summit was overshadowed by new tariff policies of United States President Donald Trump. BRICS leaders presented the group as a defender of multilateralism. The group expressed concerns about Western dominance in global affairs. BRICS stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It brings together mainly developing nations to promote fair global cooperation. The summit aims to boost partnerships and address common challenges.

On Sushruta Jayanti (15th July 2025), Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush, inaugurated Shalyacon 2025 in New Delhi. Shalyacon 2025 is the 3rd National Conference on Shalya Tantra, hosted by All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA). The theme is Innovation, Integration, and Inspiration, blending tradition with technology. It aims to showcase Ayurvedic surgical progress and promote collaborative learning and innovation.

A two-day National Conference on “Good Governance Practices” was recently held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on July 17-18, 2025. It was jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Government of Odisha. The event aimed to showcase successful governance models awarded the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration.

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports inaugurated the Youth Spiritual Summit in Varanasi. The summit was held at the Rudraksh International Convention Centre. Theme of the summit was “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” (Drug-Free Youth for Developed India). The three-day summit focused on making youth drug-free to help build a Developed India. The summit ended with the Kashi Declaration, committing to a nationwide campaign for drug-free youth. A roadmap called Kashi Sankalp Patra was created to guide efforts toward youth de-addiction.

A national conference on Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/NT/SNTs) was held in New Delhi recently. Community leaders demanded the formation of a permanent national commission for their welfare. The demand follows the Idate Commission’s 2018 report, which recommended permanent support structures. These communities lack land rights, remain highly marginalised, and face economic deprivation. The Development and Welfare Board for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNCs) was formed in 2019 to support them. The Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) offers free coaching, housing, health insurance, and livelihood aid to poor families.

The Indian Army will host MILMEDICON-2025, an International Conference on Physical and Mental Trauma in Military Settings. It will be held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on August 28-29, 2025. The event is organised by the Director General of Medical Services (Army) under the Ministry of Defence’s Year of Reforms. Experts will discuss combat trauma care, artificial intelligence, new technologies, and emergency medical response. The conference will mark 100 years of Military Nursing Service (MNS), honouring Nari Shakti.

The 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG 2025) will be held on 22-23 September 2025 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It is jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and Government of Andhra Pradesh. IIM Visakhapatnam will be the knowledge partner for the conference. The theme is “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation”. The conference will showcase best practices, emerging trends, and collaboration in digital governance for public service delivery.

The 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) will be hosted by the Parliament of Barbados and CPA Barbados Branch in Bridgetown, Barbados from 5-12 October 2025. The theme for 2025 is “The Commonwealth – A Global Partner”.
