Recently, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary inaugurated the Trade Facilitation Conference 2025 in New Delhi. The theme of the conference was ‘Scientific Excellence for Seamless Trade’. The event was jointly organised by the Central Revenues Control Laboratory (CRCL) and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). It is the first-of-its-kind conference focused on building a modern, efficient testing framework.

On 14 July 2025, the World Health Organization (WHO) released new HIV prevention guidelines at the 13th International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference. The 13th International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference was held in Kigali, Rwanda. WHO recommended lenacapavir, a long-acting antiretroviral drug, for high-risk groups and areas with high HIV infection rates. Lenacapavir (LEN), developed by Gilead Sciences, is the first capsid inhibitor approved for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) as a twice-yearly injectable. Initially approved for HIV treatment in 2022, LEN showed near-complete protection in prevention trials. The WHO called it the most effective alternative in absence of an HIV vaccine.

A two-day National Conference on “Good Governance Practices” was recently held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on July 17-18, 2025. It was jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Government of Odisha. The event aimed to showcase successful governance models awarded the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration.

The Department of Hospital Administration at Army Hospital Research & Referral (AHRR), New Delhi, recently organised SHAPE 2025, the first-ever Armed Forces National Conference on Sustainable Hospital Architecture, Planning, Infrastructure and Equipment, on July 26–27, 2025. SHAPE 2025 aligned with the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision, marking a step toward future-ready and resilient healthcare infrastructure. The conference stressed the shift from traditional hospital design to environmentally conscious, technology-enabled, and patient-friendly planning. It called sustainability a strategic need for health equity, disaster readiness, and national preparedness.

A national conference on Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/NT/SNTs) was held in New Delhi recently. Community leaders demanded the formation of a permanent national commission for their welfare. The demand follows the Idate Commission’s 2018 report, which recommended permanent support structures. These communities lack land rights, remain highly marginalised, and face economic deprivation. The Development and Welfare Board for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNCs) was formed in 2019 to support them. The Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) offers free coaching, housing, health insurance, and livelihood aid to poor families.

The 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG 2025) will be held on 22-23 September 2025 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It is jointly organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and Government of Andhra Pradesh. IIM Visakhapatnam will be the knowledge partner for the conference. The theme is “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation”. The conference will showcase best practices, emerging trends, and collaboration in digital governance for public service delivery.

India has been elected as chairman of the Executive Board of Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) with the highest votes at the 23rd AIBD General Conference in Phuket, Thailand (19–21 August 2025). India last held this position in 2016, and this strengthens its leadership role as it also serves as President of AIBD General Conference until August 2025. AIBD, founded in 1977 under UNESCO, has 92 member organizations from 45 countries. The conference theme was “Media for People, Peace & Prosperity,” highlighting India’s growing global influence in broadcasting.

Shri Om Birla, Lok Sabha Speaker, will lead the Indian Parliamentary Delegation at the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC). The 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) will be hosted by the Parliament of Barbados and CPA Barbados Branch in Bridgetown, Barbados from 5-12 October 2025. The theme for 2025 is “The Commonwealth – A Global Partner”.

The third International Conference of Young Buddhist Scholars was held in New Delhi. The theme is “Wisdom Transmission in Buddha Dhamma in the 21st Century.” It was hosted at Dr Ambedkar International Centre by the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC). Young scholars emphasised establishing a powerful ethical framework for Artificial Intelligence (AI). They suggested building machines with a digital mind and a heart, blending intelligence with ethical values. The conference aimed to connect Buddhist wisdom with modern technological and ethical challenges.

North East Region Ministers’ Conference on Civil Aviation 2025 & 3rd North East Aviation Summit held in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The event was organised by Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Government of India, with participation from North Eastern States and industry stakeholders.
