Gerusoppa Hydroelectric Project is situated on the Sharavati River in Karnataka. It has four Francis-type turbines, each with a capacity of 60 MW. The project harnesses the hydroelectric potential of the Sharavati river basin, which is a major river in the western part of Karnataka. The Gerusoppa dam facilitates power generation and water resource management in the region.

Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore became the first in India to install Disabled Aircraft Recovery Equipment (DARE). This equipment enhances operational safety by enabling quick recovery of disabled aircraft on the runway. The airport opened in 2008 and serves as the main international gateway to Karnataka.
