Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, launched NIGRANI App, Haj Wrist Band and Artificial Intelligence chatbots during Chintan Shivir at Nalanda University. The event was organised by Ministry of Minority Affairs to focus on infrastructure and socio economic empowerment of minorities. NIGRANI App was launched under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram to monitor infrastructure projects in minority concentrated areas. The app ensures transparency, real time monitoring and better implementation. Haj Wrist Band and Artificial Intelligence chatbots aim to improve Haj management and service delivery.

Operations at 450 Mega Watt (MW) Stage 1 of Baglihar Hydropower Project were suspended after flooding in Jammu and Kashmir. Baglihar is a 900 MW run-of-the-river project on Chenab River in Ramban district. It has a concrete gravity dam and two stages of 450 MW each. Chenab River is largest tributary of Indus River. It originates from confluence of Chandra and Bhaga rivers in Lahaul and Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. In upper course it is called Chandrabhaga. It flows through Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

The Government of India launched a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)-based Digital Food Currency pilot under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) in Puducherry on 26th February 2026. The initiative integrates CBDC into the Public Distribution System (PDS) to enhance transparency, efficiency, and beneficiary empowerment, ensuring over 80 crore beneficiaries receive entitlements with clarity and accountability. Under the pilot, programmable digital currency (e₹) tokens generated by Reserve Bank of India are credited directly to beneficiaries’ CBDC wallets.

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change launched an eco friendly Holi campaign under Environment Education Programme across Eco Clubs. The campaign promotes safe and sustainable celebrations in line with Mission LiFE. Students are trained to prepare natural colours from leafy vegetables, beetroot, turmeric and Palash flowers. These colours are chemical free, biodegradable and safe for people and environment. The initiative encourages practical learning and responsible festive practices. It highlights simple nature based solutions to make festivals vibrant and environmentally friendly.

Korea district, Chhattisgarh has become a model for community-led water conservation through the ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari’ initiative. The initiative is part of the Aawa Paani Jhoki movement, where farmers voluntarily dedicate 5% of their agricultural land for groundwater recharge. Farmers create small recharge ponds and terraced pits to capture rainwater, allowing it to seep into soil and replenish groundwater. Structures improve soil moisture, reduce erosion, and ensure steady groundwater recharge.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development organised the Shakti Walk #SheLeadsBharat at Kartavya Path, New Delhi to mark International Women’s Day 2026. SheLeadsBharat is a national campaign highlighted through the Shakti Walk initiative. The initiative celebrates the leadership and contributions of women in India. The walk was part of International Women’s Day celebrations by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The aim is to promote women’s empowerment and leadership across all sectors. It celebrates Nari Shakti and the role of women in nation-building. The initiative aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Mizoram Home Minister informed the Assembly that drugs worth approximately ₹317.30 crore have been seized under Operation Jericho since 1 September 2025. The large-scale anti-drug operation has targeted narcotic substances across the state. Several major smuggling routes have been blocked, significantly reducing trafficking activities in many areas. Operation Jericho is scheduled to conclude on 31 March 2026, and no discussions on its extension have been made yet.

Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare announced a Banana Cluster project in Jalgaon, Maharashtra to improve production, storage and processing facilities. The project will develop planting material, pre-cooling units, cold chains and food processing, and promote Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), mechanisation and biocontrol. Financial support will be provided under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) and Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF). Jalgaon is known as the “Banana City of India”, contributing ~16% of national production, supported by black cotton soil, tropical climate and drip irrigation.

The Suraksha Sankalp Karyashala was organised by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare through National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) to strengthen district-level HIV/AIDS response in Haryana and Delhi. Suraksha Sankalp Karyashala is a national-level workshop initiative aimed at enhancing district-level HIV/AIDS response through coordinated, data-driven planning and stakeholder engagement. The workshop aims to strengthen the HIV care continuum by improving diagnosis, linkage to treatment, and viral suppression at the district level. It seeks to accelerate epidemic control, targeting the 95:95:99 goals and moving towards ending HIV/AIDS by 2027–2030.

India’s largest pregnancy study under GARBH-INi (Group for Advanced Research in BirtH outcomes – Department of Biotechnology India Initiative) tracks 12,000 women. It was started in May 2015 to understand pregnancy outcomes in Indian women. The study focuses on preterm birth (PTB) and fetal growth restriction (FGR). It aims to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools to predict preterm births early. The initiative promotes Maternal and Child Health (MCH) across the country. It is implemented under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology.
