Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Airbus are setting up India’s first private helicopter Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Karnataka. The Airbus H125 helicopter will be assembled at a new facility in the Vemagal Industrial Area in Kolar district, near Bengaluru. The plant will start operating in 2026 and initially produce 10 H125 helicopters per year. This will make India the fourth country with an H125 FAL, after France, the United States, and Brazil. The facility will integrate key parts like avionics, electrical systems, hydraulics, flight controls, and engines. It will also carry out full testing and certification, following Airbus’s safety standards. Karnataka was chosen over Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat due to its strong aerospace ecosystem and skilled workforce.

The Prime Minister participated in the ‘Mahila Sashaktikaran Maha Sammelan’ in Bhopal to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar. Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar (31 May 1725 – 13 August 1795) ruled the Malwa region as part of the Maratha Confederacy from 1767 to 1795. She first served as regent and then as the ruler of the Holkar dynasty with capitals at Maheshwar and Indore in central India. Her reign is known as the peak period of the Holkar dynasty, bringing peace, prosperity, and cultural growth.

Notes:
The Centre will launch the UMEED Portal on 6 June 2025 to digitize and simplify the registration of Waqf properties in line with the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. UMEED stands for Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development. It is a centralized digital platform created to register, monitor, and regulate Waqf properties across India. The Ministry of Minority Affairs will manage it in coordination with State Waqf Boards and judicial authorities.

The Union Home Minister launched the Bharatiya Bhasha Anubhag (BBA), or Indian Languages Section, on June 6, 2025, to promote Indian languages in administration. Bharatiya Bhasha Anubhag aims to reduce the dependence on foreign languages and support decision-making in mother tongues. It will strengthen all local languages and support linguistic diversity for national development. It will support translation across Indian languages, with the help of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).

Recently, Andhra Pradesh achieved global recognition for organising a unique “Floating Yoga” event on the Krishna River in Vijayawada as part of the YogAndhra 2025 campaign. The event was held on 11th June ahead of International Yoga Day and featured over a thousand yoga practitioners. Participants performed yoga asanas on 200 water crafts including kayaks, jet skis, punts, sand boats, and floating platforms. This innovative event showcased the state’s creative approach to promoting health, cultural pride, and community participation.

Recently, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal praised Uttar Pradesh for its outstanding use of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal in public procurement. In financial year 2024–25 alone, Uttar Pradesh completed over 72 lakh procurement orders worth ₹5.43 lakh crore. From financial year 2020–21 to 2024–25, the total procurement value by the state on GeM was ₹65,227.68 crore. Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is an online portal for buying goods and services by central and state government bodies to ensure transparency and competitiveness.

Recently, the Registrar General of India (RGI) asked all States to ensure that mothers receive birth certificates of newborns before being discharged from hospitals, especially government-run hospitals. The Registrar General of India was set up under the Ministry of Home Affairs and is also the Census Commissioner of India. The Registrar General of India mainly collects data on population size, growth, and distribution.

Notes:
Bihar recently became the first state in India to launch electronic voting (e-Voting) through mobile applications for municipal body elections and by-polls. Polling is happening in six Nagar Panchayats and 36 other municipal bodies. This facility is meant for people who cannot go to polling booths to vote. Senior citizens, disabled people, and pregnant women can use this option. Voters need to install the Electronic State Election Commission Bihar (E-SECBHR) app, which is currently available only for Android users.

The Union Railway Minister recently launched the RailOne app in New Delhi. RailOne is a new super app to handle all railway-related passenger needs in one place. It was developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems, a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of Indian Railways. RailOne combines services like ticket booking, real-time tracking, food ordering, Passenger Name Record (PNR) status, refunds, porter booking, and last-mile taxi.

Notes:
The Union Ministry of Coal and Mines released guidelines for the ‘Aspirational District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Programme’ in July 2025. It aims to align DMF work with Aspirational District Programme (ADP) and Aspirational Block Programme (ABP). The guidelines focus on key areas like health, nutrition, education, agriculture, and rural infrastructure. District Collectors and State Nodal Officers must treat DMF as a mission to achieve 100% development.
