Recently, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment launched the revamped Sugamya Bharat App at the Purple Fest in Goa. The app was launched under the Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan). It aims to enhance accessibility for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) and elderly citizens across India. It serves as a citizen-led platform to make public spaces more inclusive and accessible. The app includes an Accessibility Mapping Function to rate public places based on accessibility. It has a Consolidated Directory for schemes, scholarships, benefits, and jobs for Divyangjan. It provides curated job and education listings from both government and private sectors.

The Ministry of Law and Justice launched the “Live Cases” Dashboard under the Legal Information Management and Briefing System (LIMBS). The dashboard provides real-time data visualization of court cases for proactive decision-making and better inter-ministerial coordination. LIMBS is a web-based litigation monitoring system from the central government’s perspective. It is an easy-to-access online tool available 24×7, enabling transparent, effective, and proactive monitoring of court cases. The system covers the entire life cycle of litigation, helping ministries and departments track and manage legal matters efficiently.

In October 2025, Chennai, Tamil Nadu (TN) became the first city in India to fully operationalize the Real-Time Flood Forecasting and Spatial Decision Support System (RTFF & SDSS). The system predicts and manages urban floods using data from Automatic Rain Gauges (ARGs), Automatic Weather Stations (AWS), Automatic Water Level Recorders (AWLRs), and Gate Sensors (GS). It covers 4,974 sq km, including Chennai and nearby districts, focusing on Adyar, Cooum, Kosasthalaiyar, and Kovalam river sub-basins. The project was funded by the World Bank (WB) under the Project Development Grant Fund (PDGF) and managed by Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited (TNUIFSL).

Chief Minister of Goa, Dr Pramod Sawant, announced that chess has been introduced in school and college curricula. The initiative aims to help students build confidence and develop strategic thinking skills. He spoke at the launch of the FIDE World Cup logo in Goa. The event has boosted tourism in the state. It has strengthened Goa’s global image as a destination for sports and culture. The FIDE World Cup has provided positive momentum to Goa’s economy. The move reflects the state’s focus on education, skill development, and international sports promotion.

The foundation stone for the Integrated Sohra Circuit Development was recently laid under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North Eastern Region (PM-DevINE) scheme. The project is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and the Government of Meghalaya. It aims to make Sohra (Cherrapunji) a multi-day sustainable tourism destination promoting local livelihoods. The Sohra Experience Centre will act as a cultural hub, featuring amphitheatres, rain parks, art galleries, and craft pavilions.

The Delhi government launched the School Web App to modernise education and administration in government schools. It provides a single digital platform for students, teachers, and parents to access all school-related services. It gives access to timetables, homework, notes, attendance, and results remotely. The app reduces teachers’ workload and improves communication between schools and families. It promotes innovation, skill-based learning, and Fit India activities as per National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Tripura, with Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, organized the National Cybersecurity Exercise “Cyber Bharat Setu: Bridging States, Securing Bharat.” The two-day workshop was held on 11th and 12th November 2025 at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala. It aimed to strengthen cyber awareness, readiness, and response capabilities of Tripura. The initiative focuses on building a cyber-resilient Bharat through capacity building, intelligence sharing, and proactive defence strategies. This reflects India’s recent efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure and national security through state-level cyber preparedness.

Recently, Ambaji Marble received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag for its high-quality white stone. Ambaji Marble is named after Ambaji town in Gujarat, where it is mainly quarried. It is known for its milky white colour, natural beauty, and strong durability. It often shows subtle grey or beige veins formed naturally by minerals during its creation. Ambaji Marble is widely used in temples, memorials, religious structures, and iconic buildings, including the famous Ambaji Temple.

Recently, a large mock drill named “Vishanu Sankraman Pratirodh Abhyas” was held in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh under the National One Health Mission (NOHM) in November, 2025. The drill tested India’s pandemic preparedness and intersectoral coordination against zoonotic disease outbreaks. It simulated an outbreak of Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever affecting both humans and animals to assess investigation, pathogen identification and containment in real time. The exercise was led by the National Joint Outbreak Response Team (NJORT) with experts from human health, veterinary and wildlife sectors.

Notes:
The Andhra Pradesh government has officially renamed Raj Bhavan as Lok Bhavan. The change was approved by Governor S. Abdul Nazeer following communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India. A notification confirming the renaming was issued by G. Anantha Ramu, Special Chief Secretary to the Governor. With this change, the Governor’s official residence in Andhra Pradesh will now be known as Lok Bhavan.
