Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has launched the MyMeG Program. This program has been launched with the primary aim to facilitate participation in the governance process and citizen engagement. This program has been launched to keep in line with the state’s aim to becoming one of India’s top ten states by 2030.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a meeting on ‘Universalisation of quality education through digital education’.
The discussion focussed on using satellite technology and internet to develop an integrated digital ecosystem. The meeting also called for strengthening the existing Swayam Prabha Initiative and coordinate initiatives like National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR) and National Educational Technology Forum (NETF). They were announced in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Notes:
The Mullaperiyar dam is located in the state of Kerala and is in control of Tamil Nadu. There has been a long dispute since it presents a threat to lakhs living downstream in Kerala and it irrigates over 2 lakh hectares in five districts of Tamil Nadu.
Recently, the Supreme Court directed that the maximum water level in Mullaperiyar dam should be 139.50 ft until November 10. The dam is located in the upper region of the river Periyar, which originates in Tamil Nadu and flows into Kerala

The ‘Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Act’ was enacted in the year 1997, to regulate the telecommunications sector in India
It functions under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications. A seminar was organised titled “25 Years of TRAI Act: Way Forward for Stakeholders (Telecom, Broadcasting, IT, AERA and Aadhaar)”.

During the 12th session of the Sansad Ratna Awards Committee, the inaugural Lifetime Achievement APJ Abdul Kalam Award given to 95-year-old veteran MLA of the Tamil Nadu assembly, Dr H V Hande, a former health minister. Former Karnataka chief minister Veerappa Moily, veteran MLA and MP, was also the recipient of this award.
Supriya Sule and Amar Patnaik are among 11 MPs who were honoured at the Sansad Ratna Awards 2022, awarded by the Prime Point Foundation.

The International Monetary Fund lifted the yuan’s weighting in the Special Drawing Rights currency basket. SDRs are supplementary foreign exchange reserve assets defined and maintained by IMF.
The IMF raised the yuan’s weighting to 12.28% from 10.92% in its first regular review of the SDR evaluation. The weighting of the US dollar rose to 43.38% from 41.73%, while those of euro, Japanese yen and British pound declined.

Recently the government has hiked the insurance premium rates for Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). It will get effective from June 1, 2022.

Norway’s Casper Ruud defeated Italy’s Matteo Berrettini in the final of the Swiss Open in Gstaad and clinched the title.
This is the ninth title of the 23-year-old player’s career. He recently became the highest-ranked Norwegian tennis player in history, after attaining his career-high singles ranking of world No. 5.

The ‘Quit India movement’ was launched in 1942 at the Bombay session of the All India Congress Committee and featured Gandhi’s famous call of “Do or Die”.
India paid tributes to martyrs and freedom fighters of the Independence movement on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Quit India movement.

The Anang Tal Lake in South Delhi has been declared a monument of national importance by the Ministry of Culture.
As per the website of National Mission on Monuments and Antiquities, Anang Tal dates back to 1,060 AD.
