Dainik Jagran was awarded the National Award for motivating and encouraging voters to vote during Bihar Assembly elections in 2021. The award was presented by President Ram Nath Kovind. Dainik Jagran has been given this award for best work in print media category. Election Commission gave this honor to Dainik Jagran for promoting the initiative of Election Commission for elections in Bihar.

India and Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to execute 679 MW Lower Arun Hydro Electric Project in Nepal. MoU was signed between Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) under Indian Ministry of Power, and Investment Board of Nepal (IBN). Power from this project will be evacuated to India, by means of 400 kV double circuit transmission line to Sitamarhi district.

Jeevika Didi will now become the owner of tea company, called Mahananda Jeevika Mahila Agro company, from Kishanganj district of Bihar. Processing, Branding and Marketing of the company will be done by Jeevika didi herself.

Umang App was bought by Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY). Government of India. It stands for “Unified Mobile Application for New-Age Governance”. With the help of this app, one can access more than 200 government schemes on a single platform.

The Jan Jeevan Hariyali Mission was launched by Nitish Kumar on August 9, 2019, on the occasion of ‘Bihar Prithvi Diwas’. It was implemented in state from October 2, 2019, marking the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. State cabinet approved an amount of Rs 24,524 crores for implementing the campaign in three financial years (2019-20 to 2021-22). It was launched to identify & rejuvenate all public conventional water storage structures, constructi check dams & other water harvesting structures, create new water sources, construct Rain Water Harvesting Structures in buildings, create nurseries & dense plantation of trees etc.

Under the ‘Har Khet Mein Pani Yojana’,Bihar government has set a target to construct 130 Khet pokharis in kosi region in 2022, at 90 percent subsidy. Agriculture Department fixed the cost of construction of a pond at Rs 46722. Thus, farmer will get his own pond for irrigation in field at just Rs 46 hundred. Farmers can also do fish farming in the pond. Pond will have the dimension of 20 meters*20 meters* 2.5 meters.

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated in Bihar from 1st August to 7th August in the state. Breastfeeding plays an important role in the physical and mental development of children and in reducing neonatal mortality and preventing malnutrition. Under this objective, women are being made aware of breastfeeding by celebrating World Breastfeeding Week every year.

Waheeda Ahmed was given the first prize for the successful entrepreneur at the Basantotsav Mahila Udyami Mela held at Patna Gyan Bhawan in March 2022.
People from Bihar to many parts of the country are present at this fair with their products. To encourage women, this fair is organized every year in Patna’s Gyan Bhawan, in which people from many parts of the country come.

Narendra Singh, a former minister of agriculture for Bihar and a member of the JP movement, passed away in a Patna private hospital after a protracted illness at the age of 75. He is related to the Jamui district of Bihar.

Mithali Prasad, a native of Bihar, will attempt to climb Everest in 20 days without assistance. In 2017, Mithali, age 23, ascended to the summit of Kangchenjunga. she scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, in March 2019. She was the first Indian woman to ascend Mount Aconcagua, South America’s highest peak, by herself in January 2020.
