PM Modi Launches Campaign to Reclaim Unclaimed Financial Assets

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on citizens to actively recover long-forgotten funds through the national initiative titled ‘Your Money, Your Right’. The campaign underscores the government’s commitment to financial transparency and aims to return idle assets to their rightful owners.

National Appeal for Financial Empowerment

The initiative encourages individuals to trace unclaimed deposits, insurance proceeds, mutual fund balances and dividend amounts. The Prime Minister framed the effort as a collective movement towards an inclusive financial system, urging people to convert dormant assets into meaningful opportunities.

Scale of Unclaimed Wealth Across Sectors

Recent figures highlight the extent of unclaimed money held by financial institutions. Banks reportedly hold tens of thousands of crores in inactive deposits. Insurance companies maintain sizable unclaimed proceeds, while mutual funds and dividend accounts also contain significant untouched amounts.
