Kerala: WhatsApp grievance redress mechanism for industries

The industries department of the Kerala government has launched a new system for entrepreneurs to submit complaints or seek redressals using WhatsApp. This temporary solution will be in place until the statutory grievance settlement mechanism is put into effect.

Details of the Complaint System

  • Complaint messages will be attended to within 10 minutes of submission.
  • Complainees will be contacted through the relevant district.
  • The goal is to resolve all complaints within seven days of submission.
  • The system will have both district-level and state-level operations.

Other Support for Entrepreneurs in Kerala

  • The Margin Money Grant for nano units has been utilized by 56 entrepreneurs, 42 of whom are women.
  • A total of Rs 1.59 crore has been disbursed during the current financial year.
  • 88 units have received subsidy support totaling Rs 2.44 crore under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme.
  • 84 units have taken advantage of the entrepreneurs’ support programme, with a total of Rs 6.95 crore being disbursed during the period 2022-23.

The Kerala government is dedicated to providing resources and support to entrepreneurs in the state, and the introduction of the WhatsApp complaint system is just one example of their efforts.
