India-Israel Hackathon Focuses on Restorative Healthcare

The inaugural India-Israel Hackathon concluded on 14 August 2026 with the theme of Restorative Healthcare. The event brought together 1,300 young innovators from India and Israel in mixed cross-country teams to work on 14 problem statements linked to rehabilitation and patient mobility.

Winning Prototypes and Healthcare Applications

India’s Ambassador to Israel, JP Singh, felicitated the winners on 14 August 2026. One Israeli prototype was a low-cost, electricity-free wheelchair-mounted limb mobilisation system that uses the mechanical rotation of a wheelchair’s front wheel for leg rehabilitation. One Indian prototype used real-time video processing and automated movement analysis to compare injured patients’ limb movements with those of healthy individuals.
