India’s first-ever helicopter summit is organized by Union Ministry of Civil Aviation at Sahastradhara helidrome in Dehradun, Uttarakhand on theme of expanding connectivity through helicopters. The Indian Air Force (IAF) was invited at the summit to talk on the role of IAF helicopters in MEDEVAC (Medical evacuation) at the national level.

The 14th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP 14) is taking place in New Delhi from 2 to 13 September 2019. The agenda of the conference is to reverse degradation of land and fix critical gaps in its management. According to researchers at the UN conference, the Indian Cheetah, pink-headed duck, and the Great Indian Bustard have become extinct due to desertification.

Veeru Krishnan, Bollywood actor and renowned Kathak dancer , has passed away in Mumbai on 7th September 2019. He is best remembered for his roles in films like Raja Hindustani, Dulhe Raja and Akele Hum Akele Tum among others.

The Union Government has constituted a 3-member committee to look into distribution of assets and liabilities of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) between Union territories of J&K and Ladakh, which will officially come into existence on October 31. The committee will be chaired by former defence secretary Sanjay Mitra.

India is the co-host along with UAE at the 8th Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable (AMER8) in Abu Dhabi. Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is participating in the 3-day conference which will debate energy security in the age of change with a view to empower responsible growth in Asia and the world.
