FACT Starts Di-Ammonium Phosphate Production

The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) commenced Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) production at its Udyogamandal plant on 15 May 2026. The permission for DAP manufacturing at the Kochi facility was granted on 24 April 2026 under the Nutrient Based Subsidy Scheme.

Di-Ammonium Phosphate

Di-Ammonium Phosphate is a phosphatic fertiliser used in agriculture for supplying nitrogen and phosphorus. It is commonly classified as a complex fertiliser because it contains more than one primary plant nutrient.

FACT and Its Operations

FACT is an Indian central public sector undertaking incorporated in 1943. It functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers and is headquartered in Kochi, Kerala. The company produces complex fertilisers, straight fertilisers, organic fertilisers, bio-fertilisers, and imported fertilisers.

Nutrient Based Subsidy Scheme

The Nutrient Based Subsidy Scheme provides financial support to fertiliser manufacturers for specified nutrients. The scheme covers fertilisers such as urea-free nutrient products and is used to support the availability of fertilisers at affordable prices for farmers.
