Department of Justice to Hold Regional Workshop Under DISHA 2.0

The Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law and Justice will organise a regional workshop under the DISHA 2.0 Scheme on 21 September 2026 in Goa at the University Auditorium of the India International University of Legal Education & Research (IIULER). The workshop is linked to technology-enabled legal services, legal awareness, and pro bono legal assistance for remote and underserved areas.

DISHA 2.0 Scheme

DISHA stands for Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice. The scheme is implemented by the Department of Justice and covers four major components: Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, the Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programme (LLLAP), and VIDHI-Sanjeevani.

Tele-Law and Legal Aid Delivery

Tele-Law is a legal aid service that connects citizens with panel lawyers through Common Service Centres (CSCs) and digital platforms. The service is used for pre-litigation advice and legal consultation in rural and remote areas.

Workshops, Campaigns and Stakeholders

The Goa workshop will be attended by representatives from Central and State Governments, Common Service Centres, the Ministry of Rural Development, law institutions, and other justice delivery stakeholders. Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju will be the Chief Guest, and Union Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal will also be present. The event will feature best reels from the “Nyaya Prabodh: Awakening to Justice – Know Your Rights in 90 Seconds” campaign and a slogan competition under Nyaya Prabodh.

On 16 September 2026, the Department of Justice held an officer-level awareness workshop in Nuh, Haryana, on the Tele-Law initiative under DISHA 2.0. The workshop was chaired by Suresh Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, and was attended by 150 participants, including CSCs, Village Level Entrepreneurs, Panel Lawyers, and Nyaya Sahayaks.
