The Second QUAD Ministerial Meeting has been organized at Tokyo City, Japan. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar represented India.
Foreign Affairs Ministers of the four QUAD member countries which include India, United States, Japan and Australia attended the meeting. They jointly acknowledged the importance of maintaining a free and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.

Notes:
The Centre immediately released nearly Rs 20000 crore among the states from the amount collected as compensation cess this year.
After the 42nd GST Council meet, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also informed that the Centre will also disburse Rs 25000 crore towards Integrated GST for 2017-18 to the states which received less amount due to the anomalies.

Notes:
According to the official release of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the new emission norms for Tractors will come into force from October 2021.
However, the emission norms of construction equipment vehicles will come into effect from April 2021. A deferment of six months has been provided to the date of implementation of the emission norms.

The Naval Investiture Ceremony of this year has been conducted at Visakhapatnam. During the ceremony, the Gallantry and non-Gallantry Awards announced on the Republic Day this year were conferred.
The Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain also presented Unit citations to distinguished Naval units which have performed well during the past year.

According to the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry (MoHUA), the Ministry has joined hands with Swiggy, regarding PM SVANidhi scheme.
Under this program, the street vendors will be given online access to thousands of consumers. This initiative has been launched in five cities of Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Indore, and Varanasi on a pilot basis. This will be later expanded to all parts of the country.
