The United Arab Emirates has inaugurated the world’s largest single-site solar power plant ahead of the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28).
The 2-gigawatt Al Dhafra Solar Photovoltaic Independent Power Project (IPP) is located 35 kilometers from Abu Dhabi city and will generate enough electricity to power almost 200,000 homes. The plant is expected to displace 2.4 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The project also aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goal.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD 500 million loan to enhance the quality and affordability of tertiary health care and medical education in Maharashtra.
The programme will initiate pivotal policy reforms to bolster tertiary healthcare services and expand medical education, particularly in underserved regions.

First-ever Khelo India Para Games 2023 logo and mascot was launched by Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
‘Ujjwala’- a sparrow, was unveiled as the official mascot of Khelo India – Para Games 2023. Since 2018, a total of 11 Khelo India Games have been successfully held. Over 1400 participants from across 32 states and union territories are expected to participate in the maiden Khelo India Para Games in 7 categories.

The Union Government has exempted the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the national nodal agency to deal with cyber security threats like hacking and phishing, from the purview of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
The Centre has used its powers given under sub-section (2) of Section 24 of the RTI Act to exempt CERT-In from the purview of the transparency law. Using those powers, the Centre has included CERT-In at serial number 27 in the Second Schedule of the RTI Act.
